for a variation you could try School Cheese Pie, I remember it from my school days in the 60's, very more-ish... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Haven't made this for years but I used to make potato cheese.
Used sliced potatoes, cooked for about 5-7 minutes, so they remained sliced and not broken. Cooked chopped onions and grated cheese.
Layer in dish - potatoes, onions, cheese, potatoes, onions, cheese. Bake in oven at 180 for about 20 minutes, until potatoes completely cooked and cheese nicely browned on top.
Can eat it on its own or with veg or beans.
Think I need to include in next month's menu plan!
