Ok, so i had NO tatoies :(
But am off to buy some today, this may be a stupid question but would it be ok to cook it in a casserole dish, without the lid on?

I cook mine in a casserole dish without the lid on and its fine. Its a nice big dish and I can eat LOTS of this :o

I like the crispy bits on the top so mine is always well done - intentionally :D

I made a mashed potato pie a few weeks ago for the first time with just cheese, went down well with everyone, cant wait to make it again with onion and tomatoes too. Sounds divine.

  • This is how i make my pie

Puff or shortcrust pastry, rolled into a circle or rectangle,....

Mash potatoes, add cheese and a bit of mustard then mix alltogether, spread the mixture over the pastry so it covers nealry to the edges, then roll the pastry up like a big swiss roll, bung in oven and cook on 180 for 20-25 mins.

You could add onions too, but i dont like them.

    YUMMY:beer:

Hi, I intend to make cheese and potato pie for tea tonight. I know it's been mentioned a few times on here recently, but i can't find any of the threads. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Boil potatoes and mash them with a little butter or milk and add cheese to your taste. Meanwhile, blind bake pastry for 15 mins gas 6. Fill pastry case with cheese potatoe mix the put in the oven for a further 20 mins to brown.

Thats how i make it anyway.

    Hi soba,

I've merged your thread into the main cheese and potato pie thread to keep all the suggestions together. There's also this recipe on the recipe board thread.
