    Hi Lindos90,

Thanks for checking your private messages for me. It looks like MSE have disabled PMs for people on here providing support so I can't contact you with the e-mail address for my team at the moment. We're looking into this problem and why this has occured.

The forum is updated with new accounts once a week. If you are not able to register on the forum then there is a "contact us" button at the bottom right of the main forum page. This comes into a specific inbox for my team. If you could use this and include your phone number and account number we will be able to make sure you are able to register for the forums.

    Cheers

Thanks Emma, and apologies everyone else for hijacking the thread to try and sort my broardband out!:o Im hoping I can now get this sorted with Emmas help directly.

I have used the contact us button to give you my details Emma, I also gave registering another try and it has finally let me do it, but thought even if I set up a thread, I would not beable to keep coming into the library to post on it!

Please look into my BB for me, you now have my details, but I really am unable to travel to the library all the time to post and wait for replies on this or the TT forum.

Thank you again, and keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been thinking of joining Talk Talk and yet already have a saga about their awful customer service even though I am not yet a customer!

I have tried phoning them at least 3 times already just to get some information - each time I was on there for at least 10 minutes just answering their questions (postcode - who is my present provider etc etc) - then when I asked a couple of questions including can I get a phone line - answer - 'don't know - try the customer service - I had phoned their sales line - when I phoned customer service - same 10 minutes (I was using a 0870 number so paying for all of this an Indian person was not listening to me - just robotically asking me questions repeatedly and then she disconected the line when I said she is asking a lot of questions and I only have a general enquiry.

The talk Talk rep emailed on Martin's website (here) and said that I should use the Talk Talk forum which may help me but I have to be a customer first! Unbelievable!

The TT have been phoning me trying to get me to join - they are so pushy and each time that I mention that there is an offer (12 montsh free) they say that it does not exist - which it does! or ignore my statement completely - so much so that I have to ask - are you going to reply to my comment - and they say no they can't.

The cutomer service for getting customers is usually good in most compaines and only bad once you start complaining - thsi is the first time that I have ever been hitting my head againist a brick wall when I actually want to join!

The rudest and most irgnorant people (about their own products) that I have ever spoken to.

Emma, ive not heard from you or anyone else at talktalk, can you confirm you got the email I sent via the other forum? Im really relying on your help. Thanks.

Skat..I would probably take your experience as a warning really, if you never have any problems, then TT is a good cheap and cheerful service, if you ever have any problems, then its very hard to get any service!

    Hi Lindos90,

I replied to your e-mail on Thursday of last week from the TalkTalk Online Support e-mail address.

Thank you for the email, but as I said before, I was in the library when I posted, as I had no BB at home, so could not wait or continually return to the library to see if I had an email from you, on this occasion, due to the circumstances, a quick phone call to clarify things would have really helped.

Edit, now online, so checked the TT forum, I have NO messages, so dont know where the one is you say you sent me.

As it is, over two months later and three missed 'go live' dates, we finally have broadband, so hopefully there will be no more problems, but if I do, I now have the ability to use the TT forum.:T

i joined talktalk, my go live date was 30th dec, no dial tone or broadband for 8 hours, so left it until the next day, still nothing, i rang my landline from my mobile and a woman answered!!!! i rang talk talk, from work, just as well as i was waiting 28mins to speak to someone, but to cut a very very long story short, the problem was resolved. i finally convinced the advisor that my line was not working no matter what their line checks said, and would he please dial my number. shock, horror, sorry miss, a man answered. seems that something had gone wrong on the exchange but it was put right within 2 hours. i was very grateful, to the advisor, who had patiently listened to me ranting.

if the talk talk person is reading this, can something be done about the automated service, its very expensive when one has to call via a mobile.
  • I would advise against TalkTalk, based on my recent experience. I signed up by phone 2-3 weeks ago, and was due to have an engineer visit this week to set me up. I phoned today to find out when they were coming, and they told me that they'd cancelled my order a couple of days after I placed it, but had not bothered to tell me. Apparently they had noted down a completely wrong phone number for me, and when they couldn't get through they decided to give up. They could have emailed me or sent me a letter, or called me on the same line that I was converting to talktalk, but they didn't bother.

After speaking to four people in three departments I got nowhere. they told me I'd have to start again and wait another three weeks for an engineer to visit, another six weeks for broadband to be set up, and blamed me for the mix-up with the number. The number they had was for a landline in Birmingham, but I live in London and had given them my landline and mobile number. I've never even been to Birmingham so the chances of me accidentally inventing a number for myself there are pretty slim!

If this is how they treat somebody who is about to sign up to a long term contract paying £400 or £500 over 24 months, I wonder how they treat you when they've got you snared!
  • I was a tiscali customer and am now talktalk (I think). I am trying to log into my account and cannot. I would like to get in touch with them but am met with the dreaded premium rate scam for customer services. I am fed up with the hassle and think it would be less hassle to switch. Before I do does anyone know of a cheap effective way to get in touch with TT to simply find out how to log on? PS - they seem to have no problems taking the money out of my bank every month!

You could try joining their forum, which the rep on here often recommends, having said that if you are a new customer it can take a time for the system to accept your account number (in order to register and post on the TT forum...and then you have to wait for one of the 'community online executives' to respond, but its not quite as fustrating as the call centers, where I find you may either get 'cut off' or they just lie and fob you off.

I have seen some threads responded to sucessfully, so might be worth a try:
