yeah i have used MSE alot, i think this site is great!!!

As for my interest on TalkTalk, I am a customer at the moment, but like most, when things have gone wrong I have felt screwed over when dealing with customer service at TT on the phone.

As for another site, yeah I use more than this site but too nackered to remember the name, will post in the morning, nite nite son
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!
  • TalkTalk is not the only telecommunications company with this "from the top down" dismissive contempt for customers.

Before I signed up with TalkTalk I had exactly the same running battle with the office of the then Chief Executive, Sir Christopher Bland.

Same lack of customer service, same corporate arrogance, same Goliath thinks he can stamp on David's head...............different name and logo, that's all!
    Life's not a rehearsal..........
  • I used to be a customer of Talk Talk a few years ago, the service was very poor and as mentioned by other users on this forum, customer service is a disgrace from thier Indian call centre (on the cheap and nasty). The 'service' changed considerably without notification and that included browser hijacking (eg when you mistype a URL, you get what is known as 'link spam' where they attempt to redirect you to a site so that they can earn click or affiliate earnings). Also the modem they supplied overheated and they didn't want to know.

They carried on charging after the contract was canceled and made my life hell at the time.

Naturally I took them to court and won. Trouble is, they won't leave us alone and they are trying to get me to become a customer again! At the door, in the post, in the shops, on the streets, you name it, they are there. Always mob handed, very intimidating and for those of us with medical conditions, very distressing as well.

Mind you, I have got them banned from a certain large supermarket in Liscard after complaining to the store, so I must assume that there have been other complaints.

My other half was in WH Smiths the other day and Talk Talk made their unwelcome approach.

"Perhaps you've seen us on TV?" the female from Talk Talk said to her.

"Yes, on Watchdog" came my other half's reply. Apparently, upon hearing this, her face dropped very quickly.

"I won't keep you any longer" came the sheepish reply. I wished I was there to see it!
  • Having trouble switching from them to sky now. Awful company to work with. Apprenlty we have signed up for anohter 18 month contract last year although I know damn well we didn't as we were planning to switch last year.

Sounds as though they have done something behind our back or are coming up with bullsh!t just to stop us from changing

Ask them to produce the contract or a recording of the telephone conversation during which you agree to the new contract.

When they can't, tell them, "See you in court."
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Hi Mr.Brightside87,

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. I've been out of the office for a short while.

We can take a look into your account and any contract renewals for you via the TalkTalk Forums at https://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums. If you could post there we'll be able to access your account and take a look into when the renewal was placed and why.

    Cheers

Anyone else having problems with talktalk homemover pack?

When I moved we were told that it would be 2 weeks for the phone, and three weeks until we got broadband, but now they say well over 6 weeks, with no confirmation of a 'go live' date as yet.

When I call to ask, they have problems finding my account as I have not been given an account number for the new address, then when I ask how long it will be, I get cut off by the rep, or transfered to an automated line that says all the systems are down, and to call another day!!

In the mean time Im called almost daily by their sales department offering me a contract if I move from my BT line, when I tell them I have a TT contract, and waiting for BB, they just put the phone down on me!!!!

I have bills to pay online, balances to check (with moving house etc) Its very inconvenient.

Ive found out today that our library has internet computers, so here I am!:T

Unable to register on the talktalk forum as I dont have the account number for the new address!!

Anyone know what elseI can do to sort out the BB?

    Hi Lindos90

Could you enable your private messages then I can send you some contact detials for my team? We'll be able to take a look into this for you. For information you should have been informed of a 4-6 week timescale for broadband to be provisioined. The two week timescale is for the activation of your phone services.

    Cheers

Hi Emma, Im back in the library, still no connection at home.

My private messages are enabled, but I cant check them regularly as I cant get on the internet:rolleyes: without making a special journey/time aside to come to the library.

We recieved a cd yesterday, but still no do live date.

My husband called a coiuple of days ago, and was at least given our new account number, but was on the phone for almost one hour (on hold most of that time), then the person said her supervisor would call back as soon as she had finished her call, of course she hasnt.

We were specifically quoted 2 weeks for telephone, 3 weeks for BB, which at the time I thought was ages!!! Even if that ment three weeks after the phone line, we are way past that now.

In the mean time we continue to get calls from the TT sales team asking if we want to move our service from BT, as TT is much better, so the system is really not up to date!

I would really appreciate your help Emma, I will pm our account number and my phone number (EDIT, your PM is not activated, so I cant, can you enable your pm please?) I really dont know when I can get into town again, or have the time to try and set up something on the TT forum, so if it can be looked into and then if someone can call me that would be FANTASTIC!!.

We are really finding it difficult not having BB,

-my son can not do the home work that is set online by the school,

-I can not recieve my epipen email alerts,

-we have just moved and I am unable to keep track of my online banking, and am constantly worried that I may go overdrawn due to one off bills assocoiated with the move,

-I have to rely on the internet for all my christmas shopping which im having a panic over as its december now!

Im told that even if I get a go live date, that it is likely to be past that time that its done!

If you could sort something out for me I would be so grateful!!

Keeping my fingers crossed you can help emma, or atleast give some indication as to why it takes so long.

OK, I thought while I was here I would try and register on the TT forum to see if you were there Emma,

    I got the following message:

Your Telephone Number / Account Number Combination Does Not Exist Or The Account Is No Longer Active. You Must Have An Account To Access This Site.

I typed it in correctly, double checked, tried twice!!

Thats what im wondering, if TT thinks the phone number they have given me still belongs to BT, they probably have no plans to give me broadband as they dont think im a customer!!

Please help Emma, as you see, I have no way of accessing the TT forum, and I am getting put on hold/being cut off/ not getting called back, by trying to call and sort it over the phone.

If you can enable your pm on here please, i can pm you my details on this site, as I can not get registered on the TT site.

    Thank you Emma
