Hi FB most of us fall off the wagon at some point... Think about it as being like flying - a pilot is off course slightly most of the way, and then corrects towards the end.... There will be highs and lows on your journey, but one day the way forward will seem a little clearer and you will look back and be amazed how much you've achievedAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for the supportive comments everyone
I had a better nights sleep and the Monday blues have gone
Well I have had to update my signature as now that I have had settlement figures for the loans, added in the costs for transferring the balances and added in my expensive fall off the wagon I owe closer to £13k than £12k - oops!
I have also re-jigged my budget to make better allowances for hobbies and kids clothes. I should still be able to pay at least £500 off my debts per month - which hopefully means that come October's pay day I can convert aNow that will be a nice feeling.
Also if I have a month where there is unexpected expense (assuming it is not too big) I should be able to absorb it by making just minimum repayments to the cards and avoid resorting to additional credit. Well that's the cunning plan.
Challenges for today:
Hoover stairs, hall and landing
Tidy dining room
1 load of washing
Challenge for rest of week - get a few NSD under the belt as have fallen behind with those.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( = £13000 to pay off

Hi FB - well done for having a plan to debt bust... I bet that beats most of the population!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Making the plan is the easy bit - sticking to it is the challenge
Talking of challenges - didn't fare too well last night and only got the washing done. Am whacked tonight so not setting any challenges.
On the up side today I have closed 3 credit cards and a loan - a nice feeling but had a moment's wobble when one of the cards offered me 0% on spending. I remained strong and declined their offer and the cards have been cut up :A
I have 1 card and 1 loan left to settle and a return to make on the catalogue and then they will all be shut down. That will happen within the next week. Then will just be the 2 0% cards :T:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( = £13000 to pay off

Hi there
just read through your diary. Well done on getting a grip on your finances. Don't be surprised that you slip off the wagon occasionally. We have ALL done it at some point. The trick is to not give up and hop back on.
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Morning Diary - haven't forgotten you!
Things have been manic at work and by the time I have got home and sorted kids have been falling into bed early. I am so glad it's the weekendalthough have lots of housework to catch up on
and must give the lawn what will hopefully be the last cut of the season.
Am wishing for the end of the month to come so I can make my first payments.
Right had better get going - have a good Saturday everyone:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( = £13000 to pay off

Right I need to give myself a good kick up the proverbial.
Have been so disorganised over the last week. I haven't managed any more NSDs as I have been buying lunch and dinner everyday due to not having done a meal plan and weekly shop.
The house is still a tip as didn't do any housework yesterday - in fact did sweet FA yesterday
So plan of action today:
Get house tidied and cleaned (although kids rooms may be excluded as can't even get into DD's due to state of it )
Sort out food shop for the week
It's raining here so looks like the lawn still won't get mowed but tbh have enough to do inside
In order to keep me on track will keep popping back and posting on progress. So apologies in advance for boring everyone with my domestic updates
Right - let's get going...........:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( = £13000 to pay off

Hi Fuzzybear
Well done on your 0% transfers. You're off to a flying start with debt busting.I'm still trying to get a 0% transfer card to accept me.
I'm not so great at meal planning either. Who knows what I'll want to eat next Thursday? How can I possibly decide today? Think I need to give it another try though as other posters swear by it.
Best of luck and do keep going. We will all get there, eventually!
