Glad the 0% went thro okay... Hopefully you can now get back in control. Once I moved my debt to 0% it really accelerated my debt freedom

  • Can't wait until my first debt payments at the end of this month and seeing my balance go down :j

Another miserable day here weather wise :(

Have quite a few meetings today so hopefully the day will go quickly.

Completed the challenges (sounds better than chores) apart from the exercise yesterday so will set myself some for today:

    Clean bathroom and downstairs cloak
Tidy conservatory (which is our dumping ground)
    Post couple of letters
Review Mr A shop scheduled for tomorrow
    Two loads of washing
Sort through small pile of paperwork starting to grow in the kitchen.

Think that will be enough for today!

  • Quick update over the lunchtime - second balance transfer has now taken place :j yippee. That's half my debt now on 0% for 22 months.

Will phone when I get home later and get the original card closed to prevent any temptation ;)

  • Yep really does feel like progress at last even though not paid anything off yet!

    As for challenges today:
Clean bathroom and downstairs cloak Done but downstairs loo appears blocked so a bottle of bleach down there tonight and if no better then off to buy a plunger :( this is a time when I wish I wasn't single as surely (at the risk of being sexist) it's a mans job ;)

Tidy conservatory (which is our dumping ground) Done but not as thorough as liked as spent an hour doing homework with kids

Post couple of letters Forgot - Doh!

Review Mr A shop scheduled for tomorrow Done and cancelled as struggled with the carp food I was putting into basket so want to go back to using butcher for decent meals and making lunchbox items - New plan and list to be devised over weekend :)

    Two loads of washing Done

Sort through small pile of paperwork starting to grow in the kitchen Done

All in all not too bad - will definitely use this diary to encourage me to get stuff done as the thought of admitting to failure in such a public way is a good incentive!

Was definitely a spend day as DS needed some sports kit which has made me think I need to review my overall budget as forgot about the clothing and accessories for activities :(

Hi FB - yes to the clothing and accessories budget - especially for kids school stuff - it was a horrible realisation for me that DS needed school's bespoke gym kit replacement (he's grown) and a new blazer as I hadn't budgeted for that at all and it was c£55 by the time I'd done that on top of trainers, football boots, shoes etc... Start of school year nightmare from that perspective as he grown about 4 inches this summer!! and gone up 1.5 shoe sizes...!

  • Lordy that is some growth spurt this summer that your DS had

I played the russian roulette of waiting until the last moment to buy uniforms praying I could still get what was needed in the right sizes. My DS has filled out but not grown much which worries me as that means he is likely to shoot up and grow out of all his new uniform and kit before it's worn out

'tis a nightmare - which has prompted me I need to check on dd's ballet stuff as she has an exam before Xmas and it all has to be exactly right to the point that the leotard can't be too faded from washing :(

  • Morning Diary

    Todays list is:
    2 loads of washing
    post the letters from yesterday
    Finish tidying conservatory
    dust and hoover the lounge

Am hoping the secong 0% card arrives today so that I can sort out the remaining balance transfers. Have got settlement figures for both my loans now and it does make it worthwhile financially transferring them. From a money management point it will also be easier reducing the 4 cards, two loans and one catalogue account into just the 2 cards.

I am budgeting to clear them ASAP but if I have a tight month with extra expense I can get away with not having to resort to using credit by just making minimum payments on the cards. Just the knowledge that I have this contingency takes away some worry. I feel so much more in control and I like that feeling :)
