    what!?!?!?

its my 21st in just under 2 weeks, and mum said the budget was bigger as its an important birthday (i dont get that, thought it was a US thing but whatever lol) so I asked for a tablet in CEX which was £150, Im getting it, but i've put £50 towards it!

Im more than happy with that :D we are going out for a buffet meal the night before, me and OH will be paying for ourselves, I dont see why my parents should be left in the sh*t just so i can have everything I want!
I'm not a bloke! :rotfl:My real name is Sinead, Sid is my nickname :rotfl:

they arent the majority. most people are brought up properly. and not by people who always blame something else when they have messed up.

And you are an authority on teen behaviour are you? How does that come to be?
rubbish! why isnt every teen like your son then? a minority are, but thats it. you just sound like someone who cant accept that you messed up and you think its everyone elses fault. just like your son thinks everyone else should get everything for him. you cant even see the similarities.

i hope your son does see what you really think of him. because then you might grasp what you have done to him and you will suffer the consequences.

Unless you know the OP personally your accusation seem a tad hollow and unfounded.
no they dont. some do. a small minority. not all. when you understand that then youll see how silly you sound.

And you may see how bitter you sound. Do you have an axe to grind with the OP over a previous thread? That is how it comes across.

For my 18th I was given a beautiful necklace which I still have and cherish. My folks paid for myself and a couple of my closest friends to go to a fab restaurant. We had the most amazing time, but it wasn't expensive. At 19 I bought myself my first car. By 21 I had travelled round the world by myself. When I was 23 I bought my first flat and put down the deposit I had saved by myself.

I look back on all those achievements, all those things I did for me and I am so proud of them. They wouldn't have meant any where near as much to me if they had all been handed to me on a plate. The difference between being an adult than a child is that you no longer expect mummy and daddy to fund your life. You start doing it for yourself. Something the OPs son seems a long way off understanding.

I get the impression that this failing in him is nothing to do with the OP, she is a sensible, grounded woman who has done her best and raised him to appreciate what she can and cant do for him. If he chooses to rebel against this and act like a stroppy teenager that is not her fault.

I seem to remember getting a leather coat for my 18th, and my brother got a watch. I'd tell your son that, sorry, but you've already bought his present, and then go out and get what YOU want to get him.

    • If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are richer than 75% of this world.
    • If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
    • If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.
    • If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ... you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
    • If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death ... you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
    • If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare.
    • If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful ... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
    • If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder ... you are blessed because you can offer and recieve love.
    • If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
