PBR's "M" for "mortgage" diary!

I thought about the rule of threes, but didn't want to mention it in case it jinxed you!
Let's hope the third thing is the kettle and not something more expensive to replace
I'm good, just about to update my own diary... I missed last weekend. I have just caught up on everyone else's though... it has taken me ALL morning since 7.30
I am too addicted to this place!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

I have been lurking on your diary and have found it really useful - (I think we owe about the same amount!) I will be sure to egg you on more vocally!
After a spendy couple of weeks, things are now going in the right direction again - lots of eBay sales and some books on Amazon (I have got it working again!) so we're now on the way to that £500 payment as I really want to make one more OP before miniPBR arrives!Overpay!0 -
There are some roadworks outside our house at the moment - (except there's no one actually working out there). This has led to bollards, traffic lights and sign up meaning impatient drivers are sitting outside my window with their radios blasting and their engines revving. I can barely hear myself think amid the sound of the thump, thump, thump of basslines that some people (including me when I was younger!) call music and am trying to work!
I had finally had enough of it yesterday so drove 100s of miles to the middle of nowhere to get some peace. It seemed to work, but what a waste of petrol just because some drivers have absolutely no concern for other people! Am now back, fuming, but to lighten my mood, lots of things seem to be selling on ebay, so hopefully one last OP is a possibility if I don't lose my temper again and flee!
I will go for a walk to calm down at lunchtime instead of completing surveys and entering competitions as I had planned. Perhaps I might don a hi-vis jacket the roadworks myself since there's no one else to be seen?Overpay!0 -
Is it going to be one of those days?! I was congratulating myself on being frugal and making soup out of leftover carrots when the glass handle came off the blender jug with the upshot that I now need a new blender and have only just finished cleaning the carrot-splattered kitchen. There was carrot everywhere - it looked like someone has been murdered after leaving a tanning shop! Better go - have just found some on my trousers!!
Perhaps I could be frugal and ask Santa for a new blender for Christmas!Overpay!0 -

Gods these diaries are adictive. Just spent ages signing up to loads of 'em.
Have you tried searching online for a replacement flask for the blender, rather than splashing out on a new blender?Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.
Should OF, would OF. Dear oh dear. You really should have, or should've listened at school when that nice English teacher was explaining how words get abbreviated.0 -

Welcome Baffcat!
Have you got a diary? I'm addicted to them too - have subscribed to about 100! There's some brilliant advice and it's great place to turn to curb any spending that you feel like doing!
Thanks for your advice on the replacement flask - I must be more stressed than I realised if I didn't think of that myself! I've just had to stop by the supermarket for some milk so picked up a blender while I was there so no need for forgo my banana smoothie in the morning!
Thanks for stopping by (I am not usually as whingey as I have been today!) and good luck with your MFW journey!Overpay!0 -
I've been lurking on the MFW boards since before the 1st MFI3 challenge started, so you can see I've been around quite a while. I think I've only posted on Caz Minx's thread before.
For various long, convoluted reasons, I'm not heading directly to MFdom, but wending my way, with her indoors, towards the magic goal.
I'm self-employed (I'm one of those almost mythical full-time ebayers) with a One account mortgage. The One account, although not the cheapest interest rate (not by a long, LONG way), is an excellent vehicle for those of us who's income fluctuates as much as mine does. We're actually sitting in credit (just) in it at the moment, but if we were further into credit, I'd move it somewhere that pays better than the paltry 0.25% we're getting. It also means that what looks like OPs is always available to us if we need it.
When we took on this house, we kept the mortgage down to 10 years, which'll still mean I'm 60 when it's supposed to finish, but we're eating into it bigtime at the moment. When we pay off the 0% stoozed cards, later next year, I think we'll be very happy with the figure that'll show.
Anyway, enough about me, I'm pleased to have finally posted more than a couple of lines, and doubly pleased to see how well everyone seems to be doing, in spite of what looks to be trying circumstances in some cases.
You're all inspirational. I'm sure there's plenty of lurkers like me, who if they posted would say the same. I'm certain we all get ideas from the various diaries, little things like Quidco-ing, secret shopper-ing, etc.
So now I'll drop back into the woodwork, and you'll barely notice I'm around. But I will be.
Good luck all.Exclamation and question marks - ONE exclamation mark or question mark is sufficient to exclaim or ask about something. More than one just makes you look/sound like a prat.

Good luck all.
It sounds like you have it all under control and if you are a full time eBayer, then finding time to keep a diary might be difficult!
Thanks for mentioning the ONE account - I will have a look at that for the time (that seems like a life away) when we can finally switch mortgage providers. Even the fact that you can OP any amount you like when you like appeals to me. My account (one with a Spanish name) entails an off-putting £500 minimum overpayment.
It's great to read your story and I hope you'll pop in from lurkdom every now and then - particularly next year to update with the results of your stoozing! Good luck and nice to speak to you!Overpay!0 -
ha ha, BTR, the blender completes your rule of three. Annoying to be cleaning up all the fake tan (I love your description!!) but at least you can relax now!
Glad you are enjoying my diary. I can ramble a bit at times! I also really enjoy yours, it feels very light hearted, even when things are going wrong!Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)

Thank you! Things are never that bad!
I think I've had the three and have a great (if a little spendy)weekend. I did look up when I was in the kitchen and have noticed a massive splodge of "fake tan" on the ceiling so will need to paint that.
A couple of eBay items have sold for waaaaaay less than I was hoping, but I guess the main thing is to clear a bit of space for our imminent arrival in the house. Note to self - set a reserve price!!!Overpay!0
