Hello!
Just found your diary - thanks for sharing! You have a lovely writing style and it's very enjoyable to read! Saying that, I've only read page 1 & 4 - might catch up on the others later! It sucks being inside on this beautiful day doesn't it?!
I didn't realise that chopping cans in half gives you more points! you make me feel quite bad as actually I don't normally take any of my recycling to the point machine - I'm just lazy and put it in the house recycling bin! Equally, I never make it to car boots and buy everything online or in store - something I should look at changing!! Where do you sell your books??Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Sounds like a busy and moneysaving week PBR - and good on you for getting organised for you-know-what so early. I know you've told me before but blame it on baby brain - when do you start maternity leave? I have 4 weeks to go and I can't wait!
I'm having a slow couple of weeks at work thanks to boss being on holiday so am being overly tempted by all the deals on quidco! Need him to get back quickly.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Don't be doing too much painting PBR. Well done on buying big clothes. I am refusing to buy any more now and will live in my PJ's if I have to for the next 2-3 weeks. I personally can't wait to start fitting into my normal clothes even if I have to get a size bigger for a while.
Shame about the match this morning. So close but so far for Wales!

Hiya...you clearly have a lot more energy than I do PBR - even though you're further along than me! I am just about coping with going to work and back. Hope you're enjoying the ante natal classes - I leave for India in my 28th week so I'll miss them here. Hope they'll have some in India.
I've got 3 weeks left at work and I'm determined to get through them without buying any maternity gear. I can still fit into 2 pairs of trousers if I wear them below the bump and fortunately I've always worn smock-like tops to work and they still fit fine though some are getting tight. I can get by with nightdresses and cheap dresses in India so am hoping not to have to buy any maternity wear at all.
Your central heating sounds like mine! OH and I finally spent an hour last night figuring out how it works (new house and couldn't remember what the previous owner had said about it). As a result we had it on for a while last evening and again this morning despite solemnly vowing not to switch it on before he gets back from India ... still...we had to make sure it was working didn't we? Consdiering he will certainly need it when he gets back in early December. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

that's something I'd do :rotfl:
Other MFWness includes writing some Christmas cards (that I bought in the sale last year) are you due before or after Christmas??? I can't remember

Very jealous of you going to India- I hope the flight is comfortable and that you are well looked after when you get there. I am also jealous of the fact that you're not needing much shopping to cover the growing bump. Am loving the idea of you walking around in a nightdress and perhaps a hot water bottle!!
I hear you about the heating - presumably India is going to be quite a bit warmer, so probably not good for the baby to go from one extreme of temperature to the other! I'm trying to hold out and not put the heating on, despite the fact that it is far too clever for me and seems to be able to turn itself on when I'm not looking. I did have to scrape my windscreen for the first time this year, so definitely getting colder.
Have a great time, and I will keep following your diary until you go!
I noticed that one of the dresses that I spent money on the other day is the same shade of pink as Mr Greedy which is exactly who I look like when I'm wearing it. When did my bump get so big??? :rotfl:
In other MFW news, I happened to be in Waitr0se getting some milk just before closing time, so got some sandwiches for DH's lunch for 10p. I ripped the price sticker off before I gave them to him, stopping just short of putting them in a lunchbox and pretending that I'd made them. Also got some 10p bread and some other bits and pieces, so some cheap meals ahead!
Hiya...thank you I'm a bit worried about the flight as it's 8 hours +there's the checking in/ checking out that'll take another 4 hours and then we live a 2 hr drive from Heathrow - will be quite a long day for me. But then I can be as lazy as I like when I get there so yay!
I've got a 21st birthday to go to on Saturday and am wondering how to clothe the bump for that! I might get into a dress but I certainly won't get into tights! Must do some trial dressing up tonight!
I'm going to Delhi in India which can get quite cold in the winter - minimum temps of 3-4 are not unheard of in December and January. When I go in November, it will be in the mid 20s I think so not too bad and I hope to be back in April before it gets much hotter than early 30s. So hopefully the baby won't have too much trouble adjusting.
I love the 10p bread in supermarkets. For ages I bought nothing else! I'd freeze them and just toast whatever I needed. My mum has forbidden me to eat whoopsied stuff while pregnant but I'll be trawling the shelves again as soon as I'm back!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

is India a better choice than the UK for having your baby then mouche?
Well obviously it differs from person to person - I'm actually from India (moved to the UK 5 years ago) and my mum and dad are there so it's like a second home to me. The main reasons I'm going back is:
1. My mum will be there to help me - I have no family in the UK.
2. Private hospitals in India are better than NHS hospitals in the UK (staffing, facilities etc.) - they cost a lot but having grown up with the concept that you have to pay for medical care, this isn't as much of a problem for me as someone who has grown up with the NHS. Plus, though they cost a lot, they cost less than private care in the UK.
3. You can choose which doctor you want and you get the same doctor thoughout your pregnancy so if there are any risk factors or difficulties, they will be fully aware. Your doctor will be present at the delivery in 99% of cases. Plus, in my case, the doctor is someone who has operated on me before and comes highly recommended by relatives who are also doctors.
4. Aftercare is also better due to high levels of staffing - and once you get home, household help is cheap and easily available. My sister had someone to look after the house plus someone to help look after the baby plus a masseuse who came once a day to do mum and baby massage.
Cons
1. There is always the risk my husband won't be able to make it in time for the delivery. Unless I have to have a planned C section due to risk factors or baby turns up very close to the due date, he may well be on a plane when baby arrives.
2. I will have to live away from my husband for up to 6 months and he will miss a few months of the baby's initial development.
Fortunately, my husband is very supportive of my decision as he wants me to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

Don't be silly - you're not hijacking! I think you're really brave and I hope your DH makes it back in time. That's such a shame that he will miss a few months - though my DH plans to be at the birth (although this is in the hands of Vodafone as his phone isn't working  ) he will also miss a month at the beginning which will be a bit difficult. Like you, we've got great family support and will get through though!
I've just received my credit card bill this morning which was  . I thought I'd been very frugal this month, so perhaps next month I will return to my free and easy ways!! Having looked more closely, I think a lot of it is work-related so perhaps I can claim some back; for someone who considers themselves to be a bit of an environmentalist, I sure seem to spend a lot of money on petrol!!Overpay!0
