not naive at all. we all have them. I'm on my second and still find myself thinking "well this time i'll.........." when if I didn't do it the first time round I'm unlikely to do it with a 4yo running around aswell.
DH weighed up the use of the chemicals (washing powder etc) and the energy use of washing and drying them against the problem of landfill.
Do let me know about cost savings though. Although I suppose it would be measured in the same way - cost of chemicals and energy vs cost of disposables.
I know some people who just packed disposables in their going out bag so they didn't have to carry dirty nappies around with them all day but used reusables in the house.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
I hadn't given a lot of thought to using reusables - anythign that makes less work for me is good in my opinion! But if the costs savings are good...add me to you keep updated with how it goes list PBR.

Haven't left yet starnac - just massively busy at work handing over to numpty they've hired to replace me. Have a feeling they are going to miss me! Lots of people came to my leaving drinks on Friday too so have a warm fuzzy glow about work at the moment - sure it won't last. Am officially off work now and will be off to India this week so will probably not be updating till early December when hubby will come back to the UK. Hope the delivery goes well starnac and you take care of yourself PBR - will talk to you soon. Bye!Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

Bye Mouche. Have a lovely time. Hope all goes well for you.
Me and bump are still here. Got an appointment for a sweep tomorrow so I know I can't be waiting too long for his arrival now.
PBR check out places like snapfish who will print you photo books. They do a lot of offers this time of year and the books make fab presents. 20 days to go. You must be counting the days!! What website have you got? Is that for you while you are off on mat leave??
Oh and get your OH to fit the car seat in the car. They won't let you leave the hospital without it fitted. (Or go back to where you got it from and ask them. They'll do it free of charge)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Morning MFWers!
I am obsessed with paying off this mortgage so think I might make one last OP with my last full paycheque this month. Am sure we will be ok for the rest of my mat leave on OH's salary. I have been furiously listing on eBay - including some great personal finance books (is there an irony there?!)
I've also filled some boxes with stuff for a car boot this weekend but have now realised I can't make it! If there isn't another one locally before Christmas I may just have to organise one myself!
In other news I couldn't find my tape measure (but have just spied it under a pile of newspapers) and have bid too much for something I now think is too small. I bet I will now win this item! Can I reduce the bid rather than retract completely?Overpay!0 -
CHUGGCHUGCHUCGCHU-CHA-kaput!
Just had to replace the washing machine.... couldn't get one on freecycle and with baby on the way thought it was easier to buy one. Ouch. That next OP is looking ever elusive!Overpay!0 -

Hi Sepa :A
How are you?
I know! I am wondering if the two might be related! We live in a very hard water area, so could be the cause!
They say these things come in threes, so my money is on the kettle next :rotfl:
I am busy Christmas wrapping today so the house is looking very festive - is everyone else feeling Christmassy?Overpay!0
