I just won a "free" auction, paid £3 for a £35 Sainsbury's Voucher. Initially it said there were no other fees at all, then it stated a £2 delivery charge, fair enough, £5 for a £35 GV is worth it.
I paid online using my debit card (the site is secure I did check that much) and so I have paid them for the GV but now they want me to send a scanned copy of both sides of my DR card and my drivers licence or passport.
Er, don't think so mate!

Hi, I've just done the same - can they not take further payments from my debit card? I don't know what to do now - should I contact my bank and can they stop future monies from being taken by this company? Is Ziinga's contract binding and would they enforce it?
I'd really appreciate a reply as I'm very worried about this. I don't have much money and can't afford £59.99 per month or the £35 cancellation fee they've quoted.1 debt in 100 days £48.43/£374 - over 10% paid!

They take out further payments. My mum was conned by these people. She was signed up to the three month trial without her knowledge after just placing a couple of bids and she tried to get the bank to sort it but even though they cancelled the payment they reinstated it as they said was Zinga was in the right as she had placed a couple of bids which meant she had agreed to their terms which she hadn't even seen at the time. This is a very dodgy company. If I cared what everyone else thought, I'd be just like everyone else, and there's already too many of them. :A0

This is a scam, I had a big problem with them a while ago.

As the Money Laundering Reporting Officer of a financial services company and the person responsible for Data Protection, its my job to be suspicious!
Having just received a Ziinga email, which set every alarm bell ringing, I had a read of their T&Cs.
Whilst the cost of obtaining a 'free' iPod has been been discussed to death and I think we all agree that the site is designed to scam £59.99pm off people, I am more concerned with the potential for identity theft.
Under UK data protection laws, a company is not allowed to ask for and hold any information that is not required for it to carry out its declared function. As a (silly) example, a hotel is not allowed to ask for your shoe size when you check in, but can ask you what you eat for breakfast (in order to provide that service).
The Ziinga T&Cs clearly state that in order to receive the item that you have successfully bid on, you must provide not only your card details but also:- Scanned copy of Credit Card (front and back)
- Scanned copy of valid ID (passport or driver's license)
- Scanned copy of signed credit card form.
As there is absolutely no commercial reason for Ziinga to NEED to see your passport, driving licence, credit card (front & back) or signature, there can only be one reason why they are asking for them. And this is a company that we have already established is scamming money off unsuspecting 'customers'!
Please please please everyone think VERY carefully before giving out personal data, especially the standard ID documents and ask yourself why the company require them.
Criminal gangs trade stolen identity details over the internet and what you will have provided Ziinga with, is a dream set of data which would attract a high price.
And before someone suggests Trading Standards, they have confirmed elsewhere that the company is based in the British Virgin Islands so they cannot touch them.0 -

Most definately do not have any dealings with this company they are a scam, they automatically sign you up for a membership stemming from an innocent free bid:mad: at a cost of £58 per month 3 month contract with £38 cancellation fee applicable in an effort to escape a refund is hardgoing !0

Has anyone managed to achieve a positive outcome when dealing with this company and its elicit ways ?0

Having entered approx 3000 comps, reading their t&c's, have yet to come across any that ask a fee for delivery....remember the old adage: if it seems to good to be true, it probably is!Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Basically I agreed to a 7 day free trial and a £50 Debenhams card which they said I had to pay £2 delivery for. They then try to pretend that because I have accepted the Debenhams card I am now in a 3 month contract paying £59.99 and to cancel I have to pay £35.
So far they have charged me £1. I have cancelled my credit card and ordered another one after speaking with my bank.
I will be ignoring Ziinga emails and snail mails. My understanding is they are in Malta and that's why they get away with this. This also means that they will struggle to get me into court as I can actually request to be heard in the UK at which point they would be laughed out of the court room. Also they money I apparently owe them is £180 it will cost them more than that to collect, I am not even sure if a bailiff would bother for £180 its not a large enough debt.
I may be wrong I will update this post if I hear anything more.0
