I got the emal last night, but it was via playandwin.co.uk, won't be using their site again...
I've had misleading emails before where I thought I have won something, but this takes the biscuit!:beer:0 -
aaaargh another scam. I clicked on it but didnt fill it in! I enter a lot of comps so thought i had won one! Never give bank details for a prize win, never pay for postage - its very rare you would have to pay for postage for a prize you have genuinely won! xx
I wish i was a hacker and could get their bank details and refund everyone! i hate scams!Logic will get you from A to B but imagination can take you anywhere!
Being honest may not get get you a lot of friends - but it will get you the right ones.
Let your past make you better, not bitter.0 -

I asked them outright on chat was there any other fees involved. Here's the chat:
*****: Welcome to Ziinga Live Chat Service! For me to better assist you, may I have your Ziinga username?
you: Hi. My username is *****. I got an email saying I won an auction for a samsung c3300 phone (even though I hadn't placed any bids) and saw that it apparently only costs £1. Are there any other hidden costs I should know about?
*****: The item you've won is in conjunction with a Platinum membership that is binding for 3 months.
*****: The membership is offered free for 7 days. After the trial expires, the monthly fees will apply.
you: Aye I saw that. If I pay the £1, send an email requesting cancellation of the membership within the 7 day trial period, will I still be charged anything to my card apart from the £1?
*****: No, but that will forfeit your won item.
you: Hmm so it really costs £179.97 then? Not exactly free..
*****: The item is free if you will subscribe to the membership binding for 3 months.
you: Yes, but 'free' means free, without any binding contracts. Is ziinga aware that it's definition of 'free' contravenes advertising laws?
*****: Yes, but it's free from our Promotional Auctions.
you: I'm sorry but I find the email ziinga sent very misleading, and will be sending it to the advertising standards authority in order for it to be changed to one that clearly states the phone isn't free in the dictionary definition of the word.
Basically you'd pay £180 for a phone that can be purchased for about £40 on ebay, and the phone's specs are outdated too. Free should mean free, not 'free if'. I won '£200' on this site a few months ago, thought I got lucky with £200 of bidding credit, but it turns out that the £200 is only available to purchase bids (which can't be used for Buy It Now auctions, meaning the site is more than likely shilled too).
All in all I'd highly recommend everyone to stay away from this site. I've been on a few penny auction sites, and this one is more than likely dodgy.0
