  • Hi New Student,
Just found your post re: Ziinga. May not be appropriate for this case but one to remember in the future. If someone sends you an item you did not order or ask for and then looks for payment you can quote The Sale of Unsolicited Goods to them. You kindly inform them you did not ask for or order the goods and therefore they are Unsolicited. You give them 31 days from time of informing them to collect the goods or they legally become yours free of charge. You do not have to be out postage to return them, the Company must send the postage to you if they want the Goods back. Keep repeating (like a broken record) the Goods are Unsolicited and will become yours free of charge if the Company does not collect them in 31 days from first informed. This usually does the trick. Secondly when anyone takes out a contract you have 14 days breathing space in which you can decide you do not want to go ahead with it and are within your rights to cancel the contract.
I have just found an email today in my spam from Zinnaga also telling me I won an ipod, I will be ignoring it.
Hope you are able to get this sorted out to your satisfaction.

  • I got the same email last week - I just deleted it, didn't even consider it might be legit.
  • I opened a new email account purely for Competitions - Gmail. It was only today that I found my spam emails (they were hidden), it was amazing how many wem I had (or not as the case maybe) that's when I found the one from Zinnaga. Many of the wem when opened said you could be a possible winner so I am going to ignore them. Very disappointing when you do see the words winner or congratulations and it is misleading. Did a further research on The Sale of Unsolicited Goods Act 1971 and discovered you no longer have to give a company 31 days to collect Unsolicited Goods, from the year 2000 you are now allowed to keep them for free legally. So any hassle whether an item is a prize or a company trying a fast one trying to get you to buy their goods under false pretences can now be sorted under The Sale of Unsolicited Goods Act 1971. Hopes this of some help. If you want to know more about it google it.

  • This is definitely a scam - I've had the emails before. A good way to tell is any link that says 'http' and not 'https' at the beginning - the abscence of the 'S' shows it is not a secure site. Some of these links are just to tempt you to submit personal info, and there's rarely ever a genuine prize or anything in it for you. Just passing on as I learnt this when I worked for PayPal (and thank God I don't any more lol). Hope this helps.
