I wrote to Birdseye complimenting them on their Fish Bakes and asked if they came in any other flavours. They wrote back, answered my query (which I really already knew the answer to) and enclosed £3 worth of vouchers.
I wrote to Hovis c/o British bakeries telling them how much the whole family enjoyed the Hovis Hearty Wholemeal and they sent me back a really nice letter thanking me for my thoughtfulness and sent me four vouchers for a free product. In Morrisons the Hovis is 71p per loaf so that's almost £3 of vouchers.April 2006 - £9790.26dr. DFD - March 20110 -
I loved reading all these replies. It's inspired me to go off and try some for myself!0

Emailled Birds Eye last night to complain about the fiddly size of their chicken griddlers. Wouldn't feed my two kids never mind an adult, anyway, got the following reply via email this morning
"Dear Ms M
Thank you for your recent enquiry from which I was sorry to learn of your disappointment with the Birds Eye Chicken Griddlers.
I have posted a letter out to you with complimentary vouchers, you should recieve this letter within the next
5-7 working days.

Hi there, long time browser, first time poster!!
A few years ago in the Lincoln branch of Morrisons my parents sat down for a coffee.
Noting there was no sugar on the table she asked for some, only to be told there was none available at all, not even on the other tables! My father happened to mention that this was in fact a supermarket, surely they could buy some from the shelf. He was very curtly told no, it was against company policy but he was welcome to go and buy a bag himself if he needed to!!!
My mother wrote detailing this to the manager, and recieved £50 in vouchers and a bouquet!!!
It just goes to show that pedantic complaining can often benefit, but in this case I think it was a bit over the top as neither of my parents took sugar!!!!
Look forward to your opinions!0 -
A word of warning! I watched a documentary a couple of years ago about a man who complained continually to his local Kwik Save supermarket. He complained about the staff, the products, the store layout, the freshness of the vegetables, etc. At first the store was really apologetic and sent him vouchers and apologies. However, his complaining got out of hand -- he bought two lots of 'hundreds and thousands' cake decoration and counted the contents of each tub. He then compained that one tub had slightly more than the other and so he had been short-changed on one.
He received a letter along the following lines:
"We are truly sorry that your shopping experience at Kwik Save has not met your expectations. Our senior management team has met with the local store manager and his staff and after extensive talks and appraisals we have concluded that there is simply no more room for improvement. We realise that it will not be possible to make your shopping experience a happy one in our store and we have therefore instructed all staff to prevent you from entering the premises. I am sure that this will resolve your shopping problems with Kwik Save."
So you're thinking, 'just go to another supermarket.' Only problem was the 'local' store was in Holyhead and there isn't a fantastic choice!
Be careful out there.0 -

i wrote to tesco complaining that their "luxury" tisuues were anything but. I even enclosed a few of them as they were like sandpaper. Not nice on my sore nose. I did an survey through the office and everyone agreed how awful they were.

Recently bought the new ring pull can on Princes Corned Beef. Just couldnt get the can to open and eventually used a can opened. Emailed and complained and they sent me £5 voucher and instructions on how to open the can which seemed a lot more difficult than opening a can of coke. Im not quite sure whether this will catch on...0

i'm glad its not only me that does this then!
I complained about the fact our quality street were all stuck together at christmas, and have just received a £12 voucher.
have only done genuine complaints to date though! don't bother with Wetherspoons (they never have a full menu on offer), you just get a polite letter saying "tough" in other words!0 -
