I agree, it is worth letting companies know if you have a complaint. I had a toy mouse given to my daughter by a friend who'd bought it in Mothercare, it had a bow around it's neck which easily came undone and I turned around one day to see my little one with a mouth full of ribbon. She was only 4 months, and the toy said suitable from birth. I let Mothercare know and they sent me £35 worth of gift vouchers.
Another time, I bought a sherbert dib dab only to find no sherbert in it. I sent it to Bassets and they sent me a £5 voucher.
Once I bought some Sugar Puffs and found a tiny piece of green glass in them, I sent it off to the company and they sent me a cheque for £25.
And finally, I bought a bar of Cadburys but it was all white when I opened it, I just called the freephone number on the back to ask if it was safe to eat. They said it was perfectly safe and explained how it may have happened. They took my details and very kindly sent me a £5 cheque.
So it definately pays to speak up.
Oh yeah...and once I wrote to Lidl Supermarket to complain about the fact that whenever I bought their chicken it was always off! I suggested they get new freezers, which they did plus they sent me a letter saying i'd be entitled to £5 off my next shop. I didn't bother claiming the money as they had sorted out the freezer situation, but saying that, I must have wasted well over £20 on rotten chicken over the months. I shop elsewhere now!<('@')> Oink0 -

If you get a pizza delivered from Domino's and there's any kind of problem like missing a topping/the wrong topping or whatever, they'll put you down for a free pizza next time if you phone back to the store and complain
Just remember yourself and gently remind them about it the next time and you'll get your free pizza no problems, at least I do!

In April this year I was happily munching on an Iceland chicken curry watching Ant n Dec when I bit something hard . I spat it out and took it into the kitchen to wash off the curry . It was a yellow piece of plastic the size of a scrabble letter piece .
I emailed Iceland and the email I got back was a fob off email . It was so obviously an email they keep on file and add the name of the person who is complaining because half of the email didnt read right and they missed the bit where they should have put the product . This p*ssed me off so I sent it to the enviromental health .
I got 2 letters addressed to the wrong person even AFTER I pointed out they had got my name wrong and she said whilst I was on the phone she had corrected it .
3 months later I finally had an apology and £20 voucher to spend at Iceland which I did buying as many BOGOF items as possible ;D . I managed to stretch £20 into almost £40 with their deals . ;D
It turned out that the plastic was from the processing factory and was a sealing clip thingie .0 -

The moral of this whole thread is complaints and comlplements are on the whole worth it.
I got a free meal for 2 at wetherspoons after they accidentally brought out a lamb burger instead of a veggie burger.
Heinz vouchers up to the value of £6 because of a can of mouldy soup.
Vouchers from somerfield AND the pizza base manufacturers for a pizza base that contained a staple, £15 in total.
Several free train journeys for compensation given to me after filling in 'feedback forms'
Im still waiting to hear from the bus company I complained to last week, when the driver REFUSED to sell me the correct ticket, switched off the engine, and waited for me to get off the bus!!!
Hmmm maybe try a few 'i love your product' emails later!
Vouchers got this way would be a good free xmas present!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

got £4 in vouchers today from cerealpartners.co.uk after emailing them to complain that some of the biscuits in my box of Shredded Wheat were overbaked and burnt at the edges...must have slipped my mind to mention that they'd already paid me 77p to buy them in the first place with the £2.25 worth of vouchers on the box!0

I wrote to Virgin trains after my daughter had to stand in an absolutely packed train from the Midlands to the West Country. I received a poor response which made clear they had not bothered to read my letter. I have now written back saying their derisory voucher for £10.00 off future travel was an insult and demanding proper compensation and have copied the letter to Richard Branson. It will be interesting to see if he cares how appallingly his train company handles valid complaints. I'll let you know......
