  • Interesting thread ;D Poor Old Capitain, I can just see 1000's of MSE users ringing Birds eye for their gravy recipe. ;D

My brother had a Galaxy bar which was suffering from Milk Bloom. he sent it back and received vouchers up to the value of a year's supply of Mars chocs.

My friend wrote to Monster Munch to complain that the crisps were much bigger when we were little and she received a full catering box of Monster Munch in return, with an explanation that the crisps now complied to European standards! ::)

Several years ago daughter wrote to 'Mr Smartie' to complain there were no blue smarties, when they were illustrated on the tube.

Result: £5 cheque made out to her mum to buy some more sweets ;D ;D

Same daughter, now grown up, still gets results by writing as though she is about 6 years old - always a valid complaint, though!
  • :(I wrote to  the people who make Finish 3 in one Powerball Dishwasher Tablets to tell them how good  I thought they were but they just sent me a thank you note. I didn't expect a van load of freebies but as a regular customer  I think they could have enclosed a 50p voucher as a goodwill gesture ???

If I buy a product and it has something wrong with it I never complain, usually throw it away and buy some more. But one morning I was happily munching my coco-pops when i started chewing something that didn't taste chocolately. When I spat it out,it looked like a piece of wood.I was running late that morning so phoned the Customer care line when I got home from work and told them what I had found. They sent me a jiffy bag and a form to fill in and I sent it off ,not expecting to hear anything.About 2 weeks later I got a letter back saying they had tested it and it was in fact a piece of straw!!!. They enclosed £5 of vouchers for any Kelloggs products. Not much I know, but ok when I would usully just have spat it out and thrown it away!

    ;D ;D ;D

I got some chicken in sweet and sour sauce from Asda - Good for you range.
I was halfway through when I started chewing something strange. My teeth wouldn't even go through it!
I was disgusted and sent a letter of complaint, I couldn't even work out what the item was!

Anyway I never expected to hear back but 3 weeks later I got a letter of apology and a £10 gift card.
The very next day I got another letter, exactly the same, with another £10 gift card!?!

Anyway that got me 2 very nice bedroom lamps that were needed! lol.

  • Since becoming a member of this site I have not hesitated in complaining or commenting when I find something not quite as it should be - previously I would have just thought 'oh well' and left it at that.

Last week I emailed Waitrose to comment on a multi-pack of 6 crisps only containing 5 bags! I received a very prompt reply, a letter and a £10 voucher!

Still waiting to hear from Safeway after sending them 2 letters ( they claimed the forst one hadn't arrived ). I bought 6 Chinese vegetable spring rolls at their deli counter, which were clearly marked suitable for vegetarians. I bit into one and got a mouthful of meat! I did take them back to the store and got double my money back, but I am far from satisfied!

I also wrote a letter off to Iceland to tell them how lovely their toffee bakewells were. They sent me a thankyou note, so there is not much point in writing to compliment them if you are hoping for a voucher in return. I will definitely try some other companies though.
