A FROG a week equals a special treat!

  • Hi all

Well the Halloween Party went really well. The kids loved it and the adults who came with them seemed to enjoy it too! It took me all day to get it ready and by the end I was exhausted. 12 children and 8 adults all squeezed into my little house, we really were at our limit.

So none of my frogs got done and today I have felt so tired that I have had to have a sleep and then take the decorations down, so nothing done as yet.

I really need to get the leaves up before the weather changes as I know I will regret it if I don't, so that might be a job to be done once DD has been picked up from school.

Just waiting for the electrician to put the electric back on in the Shower room and the coving to be put up. Loads and loads of cleaning to be done. So lots to do.

Dannie well done for getting your tadpoles sorted, if you run out I have lots in my garden ... :rotfl:

  • Where is everyone? Please don't tell me that I am the only one struggling with my frogs.
All my frogs from Monday have been done. A bit late but never mind. Going to reap my reward on Friday as I am working tomorrow morning.

  • I only half-squished a frog yesterday, clearing a shelf in the kitchen. It was so piled up with stuff that needed sorting it took ages, found loads of stuff I`d put there and forgotten, new teatowels etc (needed a good wash, been there so long) and several pots I don`t use much - also very greasy/grimy. Stored some in caravan, some stuff got chucked. The other half of the frog will be de-greasing/degriming the stuff hanging on the rail below shelf, and wiping the wall behind it. (DS is threatening to paint it!!!) I`d hoped to do more today, but CBA after shopping/putting away/sorting fridge. From tomorrow I`ve got 2 longday shifts, one day off then 2 long again, so shopping/planning for easy but HM meals to see us through what I call the `killer stretch`, a real TOAD of a shift pattern that is! (Reward after doing lots of hours in a few days is a few days off - feels like a mini-holiday then. Kitchen will have to wait!

What a great idea for a thread, I'd love to join in as I have so much to do :D
I like to write my to do list on the tiles above my sink so they're always in my face nagging me to do them!

    Big frogs for this week:
Pull out all the furniture and clean off mold
    Put together my statistics report.
    Do an excel food inventory.

Cleaning mold is hindered by the lack of mold spray so I'm doing my report. If I finish it tonight I shall be having a nice long bubble bath with a lush bubble bar :j

Well, I have managed a big frog this weekend, my friend fell over on the pavement on the second day of term and broke her ankle. Fortunately I saw her being taken home by a passing paramedic, and managed to take her to hospital to get sorted out. The reason she fell is the massive gravel spray from someone's driveway (a persistent menace for all who walk past for the last four or five years) on the pavement. Of course, she wants to sue the householder, like me she has two little kids that need looking after, taking to school etc. and has not been able to do anything because she's off her feet for weeks and weeks. My frog was printing the pictures I had taken of the gravel, and writing a statement for her solicitor. So that's done. Ironic that five weeks after she broke her ankle, I fell and broke my foot so am in the same situation. She's very nearly back on her feet now though, and I still have a long way to go. However, another frog-ish job is knitting a tank top for the OH for his Christmas gift, and a friend took me to the wool shop yesterday so I am at last able to start. As I don't enjoy knitting aas much as crochet, there will probably be some swearing! Rewards, well, job done so a big mental tick, and hopefully hubby will be happy with tank top and I will be pleased if I can get it properly finished.

    Hi everyone.
Not been bothering too much about frogs lately. The end of every month is Church Magazine time so normal(!) life is suspended.

However, this week we had a big plastic sack dropped off from the British Heart Foundation appealing for clothes, books, bric-a-brac etc. It was just the push I needed as when I declutter the stuff hangs around for months because I'm never too sure what to do with it. So, there are now THREE big sacks waiting to be picked up tomorrow and my wardrobe is looking a lot tidier, my book shelves are emptier and I could do with this happening every week for a month or two.
My reward is a virtuous glow and an evening spent knitting.

    Hello everybody,

    Thanks for the recent posts.

Since my last post, I have been doing some of the usual "tadpoles" such as pruning a bush and collecting garden edible items. The "rewards" are that seasonal jobs are becoming less and food for the freezer to use later, instead of shop for. A "tadpole" is actually sorting out the edible items so prefer to do this whilst watching something interesting which is also a "reward". Another "tadpole" was deleting 22 computer "favorites" but this seems a never-ending task.

A "frog" was deciding to do another challenge and the "reward" will be in the long-term. Today also was a "froglet", to collect a lot of winter stock of tinned food for a friend. I had been unable to do this for awhile so the "reward" is that I feel reliable and this person is very pleased.

Football Widow - Thanks for your encouragement. Sorry can't help with your garden! How is the leaf task going? Is it for creating compost? I was also wondering where everybody was but concluded that maybe there are several reasons?

This is great! my 3 sacks were picked up this morning and a lovely 'thank you' note pushed through the door giving a phone number to ring if I ever wanted anything else picked up. Just what I needed to hear! Decluttering isn't a problem, it's what to do with everything afterwards. I feel great clearing out sessions coming on.
My frog for today was to spend the afternoon sorting through my winter clothes but unexpected visitors put paid to that idea. Will try again tomorrow.
Dannie: your garden activities put me to shame. Well done you.

Thanks monnagran. It sounds like you have also made a lot of progress with your decluttering task.

    Hello all,

The weekend "frog" tasks were uneventful due to everyday life jobs but hoping to make some progress this week.
