rowsew: You have my deepest sympathy. Been there. Done that. But went one better and managed to break my elbow at the same time which was plastered with arm at an angle. Couldn't even use crutches so was reduced to an ungainly hop for 6 weeks. Fortunately (or otherwise) I did it right at the beginning of the school summer holiday and was unplastered just in time to go back to work! However, I had no young children to care for. I can only suggest that you take up every offer of help you get. Poor lovey, you are going to need it. If you aren't offered help just ask for it, people are usually willing but sometimes don't like to butt in. Forget frogs, they will still be there when you are up and about again - unless you can get some of those off-loaded while people are still willing to help!

Have done some lovely lanterns for Halloween using old jam jars and a black pen that you can use on glass. Done some 'Meg and Mog' illustrations and hung some black paper bats inside and I am well pleased with them. DD is getting very excited about our Halloween Party and has come up with a really good game to play which involves mummy making a witches face and throwing velcro balls at it with numbered bats, so got to order some felt or maybe a trip to Hobbycraft tomorrow .... Not a FROG by any means - yippee.

Football Widow: Oh dear, I'm with you on the need for some housework routine. Regret to say I may have to sign up for the Flylady emails again. I never actually did the things I was supposed to every day but it gave me a virtuous glow knowing what they were. ;)

    Thanks for the posts everyone.

Monday I sorted part of a file out ("tadpole") and the "reward" was that I caught up with some TV programmes at the same time. Also, I answered an email ("froglet"); always nice to thank people for their assistance. Later, I cut straight the lawn ("tadpole") but it still needs extra attention.

rowsew - Been wondering about your last post. It sounds like you have a lot to deal with. Hope your health/situation gradually improves.
  • OMG  I have rubble and dirt and dust everywhere. It is a horrible mess. So I have one enormous TOAD to do today!! x

Hello everyone. During, my recent few days I completed a lawn job ("tadpole") and started the other one yesterday. Also, another "tadpole", prepared some cleaning fragrances for around the home, so a nice aroma afterwards for quite a while. Doing housework is manageable for me but maybe I have more time than those who get "behind" with it?

Another "tadpole" task was a post to another forum and also updating a list of future "frogs" that need doing. Yesterday, was busy with everyday life, so apart from the above lawn job, chucked out some old uncomfortable boots. This was a "froglet"; they had been "staring" at me for maybe 1 - 2 weeks. Anyway, now they are no longer decluttering the room.

Hope everybody is doing fine. What an awful "toad" job Football Widow.
  • Just posting to confess... my treats have overtaken my frogs. My `treats` haven`t all been just for me - gathering `whoopsie` bargains for DD, long browse in town and bargain buy togs for DGD, but there`s a great army of frogs & toads, the croaking round here is deafening...must get a grip...
  • Good Morning!

Dannie like you I probably have more time than most to get things done, but as sometimes I find life very stressful and get tired I find lots of everyday tasks very froggy! Isn't it funny that things like your boots end up just sitting there, yet takes just a couple of minutes to sort. Every morning for 3 years or there abouts I have opened my lounge curtains and the tie back has come out of the wall and every morning I put it back in again, getting more and more agitated. Then the day before yesterday I realised that they were just in platerboard not brick so I got my screwdriver out and put them in myself nice and tight and now they don't fall out!!:T Three years it has taken me to do that. So well done for sorting out your boots.

Emm it sounds like you've been having a lovely time! I'm sure that you deserve it x

Well the alterations to my shower room are continuing. Still waiting to hear back from the electricians so will probably have to chase them up (a FROG for me!). Got to clear all the rubble from the garden. I popped it on freegle but got no takers sadly, so lots of trips to the recycling centre I think as a skip is just too expensive and we haven't got enough to fill it.

Sort out DVDs (with OH) Have put 6 titles onto Amazon and sold 2 already, not mega money but something.
Clean out Piggies and Winston who is now in a hutch. Not a happy bunny!

Have a poorly DD today so don't expect to get much done.

Have a good day folks. x

Haven't posted for a while as felt too lethargic to bother about frogs and things so nothing to report. However, today I gave myself a stern talking-to and have managed to clean kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and porch. Not really frogs as they are something that should be done on a regular basis, but sadly aren't. The frog is getting myself motivated. All these lovely dry days and my garden is in the same state it was a couple of weeks ago. I am thoroughly ashamed, (hitches sackcloth round shoulders and rubs in another handful of ashes.)
Perhaps I have made a breakthrough today. If not Kermit will live a bit longer.

Good morning folks. Thanks for the previous posts.

Thursday and Friday, my "frog" tasks were people, garden and decluttering related.

A "froglet" was sending somebody birthday wishes via an email, so the "reward" if it is read, could be it would make her feel remembered. Also, another "froglet", had a long tiring trip out to collect some groceries for a friend to make life a little better for them.

The garden "tadpoles" were general tidying up jobs, finishing a lawn job and refreshing an area where the birds visit for winter food. A "reward" is that looking from an above window things are "taking shape" slowly.

The "frog" was shredding some old health notes that are not needed. This was refreshing to some extent "getting rid" of old memories.

Thanks for your message Football Widow. Sorry about your stress interrupting daily tasks. It is strange how "frogs" just linger on and I think they are miscellaneous too. Sometimes, it is if my brain doesn't want to go there, think about it etc.?? Anyway, nice that you sound pleased about fixing the curtain tie-back.
