Hi Gettingtherequickly,
What about giving yourself a reward for doing it? Is there a special treat that you'd really enjoy?
We have a thread on just that topic where you will get motivation and support:
A FROG a week equals a special treat!
I'll add your thread to that one later.
Might be worth a look at these threads too to see how others have managed to motivate themselves:
The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011
My home is a mess
I know from personal experience that it's easier said than done, but the best way is to free up a day to do the job and just get on with it. If you can't face it all at once use a timer and set yourself 15mins or half an hour a day. It's amazing what can be achieved in that amount of time.
The feeling when something that's been nagging at you is finally sorted out is fabulous! Says she who needs to clear out her wardrobe and chest of drawers and has been hiding from it for months.
Good luck with your spare room.

Why are frogs so happy? They eat whatever bugs them!0 -
Hello everybody, as I said yesterday I am doing "tadpole" type tasks with winter in mind. One example so far which I have been working on is checking food stock as winter will make it more difficult collecting groceries. The food area has always been time consuming and also prevents me doing "frogs" so want that better organised.
Football Widow - Hope the piggies are okay in the garage. A cat has started "inviting" himself in when the back door is open, partly due to the weather.0 -
Ooo Dannie do you like cats? I do hope so as they do tend to 'adopt' people. We have 3 at the moment. I have had as many as 6 at one time, but really that was too many. You can't give them the attention they need. Hope you are getting on ok with your 'tadpole'. We tend to eat week to week as I find vegetables don't keep that well and we don't have a large freezer. Not quite sure what we will do if the weather gets really bad. However I did buy a tobogan for DD so would have to use that!!
My list continues:
Finish off paperwork to wind up business and contact PT about stock List up stock and return
September work for S
Make FIMO ? toppers for Gifts in a Jar and put together 2 jars.
Plan nibbles and activities for Halloween Party.
Keep on top of those leaves!
Remember to get 'filling' for gift bags and 2 gift bags.
I want to get the red ones done asap as they are playing on my mind (little froggy jumping around in my brain!) and I really want to make my chocolate cup cakes this weekend!
Weather is not good here today. Have to take DD to her horse riding lesson and a 'outside' birthday party with bouncy castles.
Point of interest - Horses don't like umbrellas!!:o
Have a good weekend everyone! xFootball Widow :footie:

Hello all and thank you Football Widow for your reply yesterday.
Yes, I like cats and other animals too. What happens is that when I am in the kitchen with the back door open, cats either "stare" in or come in, sometimes unnoticed. There has been quite a few cat pals. Even though not permanently residing here, they did need lots of time and attention.
My "tadpole" regarding the food stock preparation for winter is in total a "frog". However, due to the many aspects to consider, it consists of both "tadpoles" and "froglets", for example the many places where your food is kept; organising it; recording it; food relevant to present health choices; using up leftovers and/or stockpiling; access to shops in winter etc. I think it would be difficult without the freezer but it can cause more work! I see you are keeping busy with your "frogs". With reference to your "filling" for gift bags, one year I cut up old Xmas wrapping paper and put it into gift bags.
Yes, the weather is not good now so my painting "frog" will be continued in spring. However, I have a decluttering unfinished "frog" that will be completed today and one other I am still working on. Anyway, today will still be the "food stock frog" and general tidying up.0 -
Hello All
Welcome newbies.
FW sounds like you have been doing well with those frogs, and glad you are doing ok after the funeral.
Dannie - you are so lucky to have a cat saying hi. I have been starting to think what it will be like when my cat is no longer with me, Pixie has been with me since the day she was born as I had her Mum before her. I have hedgehogs who adopt me, in the last couple of years i have found in my garden very underweight young hedgehogs wanting to hibernate (one had a plastic bag wrapped around its neck) so have taken them in and they live with me through the winter before being released again in the garden in the spring. They are a joy to watch and still come back for food frequently.
Just thinking this evening about the frogs and froglets i need to tackle this week. will consider things and post tomorrow.
Take care of yourselves

Hi all, hope you've had a good weekend. I'm just bringing forward the odds and ends from last Thursday that I want to get done by this Thursday:
* Write to Adela (froglet)
* Clean the chickens right out and disinfect the Cube (toad - I hate doing this even though it's not hard)
* Put more stuff on ebay (froglet)
Will add more tomorrow but off to bed now zzzzzzzzzFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Hi everyone. Have enjoyed my holiday and come back full of good intentions regarding frogs, toads, froglets and tadpoles. Started off well. My suitcase, which would normally have spent a couple of weeks spreading its contents all over the bedroom floor, has been emptied, put back on top of the wardrobe, its contents packed away and the washing done and dried. Still some ironing to do but what's new there? Phew! :j
I have Christmas in my sights and would love to get much more organised before then. As well as trying to keep the house reasonably up together I plan to sort out my paperwork, put the garden to bed for the winter, have a MASSIVE de-cluttering session and (difficult one this), do something with all the things I have decluttered, they have a tendency to sit around in boxes until the next session.
Then, of course, all the Christmas preparations loom. Well, not so much this year. I have decided to simplify things as much as possible, Like most people I tend to get caught up in the madness and go OTT in the last few weeks, and then I moan about it. But it has to stop somewhere, and this is it.
Right. Tonight I make a step by step plan. Ooooh, I love making plans, it's the next bit that gets me every time.
I hope you are all doing well and squishing frogs like nobody's business. I'll catch up with you all soon.I believe that friends are quiet angels
