Hi all, just `treading water` the last few days rather than tackling frogs! (I mean it`s taken all my energy just to keep afloat, between work and the bare necessities at home, including getting car fixed and sorting out a replacement for the shower (expired after 25 years` service!) Car thing was a noise I felt wasn`t healthy - turned out to be a wheel bearing, but that`s been replaced now and the car sounds healthy again -PHEW!
While I was `grounded`(waiting for them to bring my car back) I did actually tackle one frog, the only one for days... I cleared the settee (it`s a flat surface that folks dump all sorts on) and wiped the leather surface that I found beneath all the junk. Reward? Just enjoying looking at it again!
Next Frog - a long shift at work tomorrow, then I have a week off, so lots of home-based frogs to tackle then.0 -
Hello everybody, I've not posted for a few days either but I have been checking your posts thanks. A week ago I started a "food stock frog" which was with winter in mind. The aim was to be better organised as my kitchen food-related jobs are too time consuming. Anyway, tonight I am moreless organised with better records, tidy shelves and an orderly fridge freezer. The "reward" will be ongoing.
iamsalt - Yes, I am lucky. The cat visitor feels quite at ease around me. Your hedgehog visitors sound interesting - maybe they will bring their youngsters one day? Such a shame when resident animal companions die though. Some people can often eventually have happy/amusing thoughts about them though.
Anyway, I am unsure how next to tackle "frogs" as setting aside the advantages of completing the frog, sometimes they are too taxing and tedious. Consequently, will consider another approach.0 -
Sorry I've been gone so much but .... wait for it .... great excitement here.
I've cleaned out the chickens!!!!!!!! :j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T:j:T
Only took 30 mins; don't know why I had gaffed around putting it off so much. It's done and I'm going to do it every month from now on as well as pick out the poo (very glam) daily. I may need you to keep me on track though.
Hope you're all OK and fighting off those frogs.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Hi,
I've been inspired by this thread. I finally got my sewing machine out and hemmed some curtains. They've been pinned for about a year (or so). I hate hemming curtains! I double lined them too!
Thanks everyone for shaming me into it! I shall celebrate with a tot of Whisky. Cheers!0 -
Well done Mumof2. Isn't it amazing that a job we've been putting off and dreading can be done and dusted in a matter of minutes. Good luck with cleaning out the chucks regularly. It sounds like me when I've cleaned the oven - once a decade or so. I always swear that I will wipe it out every time I use it so that it won't take half a day next time. Do I do it? Guess.
Anyway, I've started on sorting out the garden for winter. Dug over and weeded half the runner bean bed. Hopefully the other half tomorrow. Find I can't weed for too long, bending over with my head down makes me dizzy, so, 'baby steps will get me there'.
Also today I've made a difficult phone call that I've been putting off for far too long - it turned out to be a doddle. Also written a letter to the hospital letting them know what I think about the way they treat old people in general and my poor late Dad in particular. Feel better for getting it off my chest.
Tomorrow; finish the bean bed, write a nice thank you letter to a friend and do a pile of ironing. Should be doable

Cheers.:j Bean bed finished. Phew
Letter half finished and a bit of ironing done. Not perfect but I still have a bit of time. When I finished the bean bed I rewarded myself with a coffee, my knitting and Judge Judy for an hour. Well..... I'm getting old and need to rest a lot.:D
Tomorrow I am going out so am not planning anything in particular, but I know that I am going to have an hour to kill between appointments so will sit in the car and knit the Christmas stockings I am making for the Church Christmas Fair. Never a wasted moment - Ho Hum.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thought long day at work today would be a real frog, but it wasn`t, I enjoyed my shift enormously.
I now have a week to tackle frogs. More than I can list (& more than I will tackle, I expect, in a week)
I`m not listing the Frogs, I`ll tackle them as the mood takes me, BUT - I`m thinking REWARDS...I`ll find PLENTY of frogs to justify them, trust me!
1) a pootle around the charity shops.
2) car boot sale (rarely get a Sunday off)
3) Wraps/toasties/egg&chips&beans when OH is on nights, eating while soaking feet and listening to R4 or 4Extra Iplayer (any whodunnits type thing) then crashing on sofa & losing plot! I intend to do this 3 days running, but am sure will find sufficient frogs to justify my indulgence! (BTW, this is my `holiday`!)0
