Hi, sorry I've been missing so much but I've hurt my back and am only now getting better again. Also the kids have been running me around in circles and DH been away in Italy for a work so rather manic.
The good news is I raised from money from ebay (see my signature) and today have listed 3 more pairs of shoes. I'm getting into it all a lot more now.
Sorry, haven't read through previous posts but hugs to whoever needs one, hi to any newbies and I hope to be around more very soon.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -

I'm so cross. Just found out that two close friends have both gone to a coffee morning for Macmillan, and neither of them thought to let me know!
I don't know what it is about me but I just don't seem to get close friends. I'm not a horrible person, I think I am a good listener but I just don't get the 'clothes and shoes and exercise' thing. Of course I appreciate that people are all different (one of my friends has a new best friend and they are very well suited - got the same interests etc) but it still hurts.
Anyway sorry rant over. Decided to concentrate on my family, my pseudo family (where I work - I'm a family support worker) and my animals (least they love me- of course that is only because I feed them!!)
Welcome Monaebrook of course we would be delighted to support you, reading through the posts you will see that all life is here and you will find folk very understanding. You'll also see that most of us are trying to do too much. You must listen to your body and when it says 'I'm tired we have to stop now' don't push yourself - OK?
Dannie will be very understanding as she too has some health issues perhaps she can pass on some of her calm and methodical approach to tasks.
I read back to the beginning of the thread today and smiled at my first post about doing one frog a week. I don't think I realized how many I actually had - tasks that I find annoying or horrid!! To be honest sometimes I find just the day to day jobs can be just as annoying. If you could try and tackle one task at a time and try not too pressure yourself too much and then of course permit yourself to have a reward then you will start to feel very pleased with yourself - Good Luck and please let us know how you are progressing.
Apologies again for the rant - but I needed to get it off my chest (One Frog Complete !!)
mumof2 Oh poor you! It's good to hear from you lucyeff will be please - and so are we!! x

Welcome to newbies, its lovely to have you here, and don't try to do too much - i think something i have learnt here trying to deal with my froggies is that if i set myself a reasonable task and a reward, I can get things done without feeling that i have so many more things to do and it becomes a positive experience.
FW - my friend and i were discussing just last night that we both find it hard to make close friends, and it definitely doesn't mean you are horrible, quite the opposite. We decided that it was best to really care about those people we love and are close friends with rather than trying to spread ourselves too thinly trying to be friends with loads of people. Obviously this is what works for us - others do have huge groups of friends so its different for them. Just thought i would share how we rationalise things xx Hugs to you xx
Take care one and all

Been missing for a few days. Too busy trying to get rid of frogs to lurk on Forums. Welcome Newbies You will get plenty of support and motivation here.
Football Widow: I hope you get through your Dad's service on Wednesday. It is hard I know, I lost my own Dad in June. Mind you, he was 97 and had been in a geriatric ward in hospital for 6 weeks which was an awful place to spend your last weeks on this earth, so we were relieved for him. And what do you mean about friends? From my reading of your messages on here I would judge that you are a kind, thoughtful person. If that is not enough for some people then it is their loss. You have plenty of friends here.
Iamsalt: Sorry to hear about the job but how wise you are to kiss it goodbye and look for something that is right for you.
Monaebrook: You look after your health flower, nothing is more important than that. Take every bit of help you can lay your hands on. Well done for getting the accounts out of the way.
I have finished my typing frogs:T and started on my garden frogs. The greenhouse has been stripped of defunct tomato plants, the compost heap is still looking good and the runner beans have been cleared and the beansticks taken down. Unfortunately I am off on holiday for a week on Saturday so I hope I can keep the motivation up when I get back.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi, I've just been updating myself on the new posts. Thanks for these. Firstly, today I was determined to make use of the hot weather. I went out for some exercise and then later sorted out a biggish part of the garden. I am unsure what type of "frog" to call this. It was the weather and poor health that had deterred me. The "reward" was being out amongst nature and a nice tea later. Also, today was a kind of "frog"; not a single cup of coffee whereas I usually have loads. The benefit being that it encourages me that habits can change. Tonight, if there is time, I will continue preparing for the health appointment.
Next, iamsalt, thanks for your perceptive and supportive comments. Football Widow, thanks for telling me about your "piggies". Maybe Bertie has a dandelion patch to work on? I've been thinking how special it is to have animal companions.
Sorry to hear about people's health/miscellaneous problems. I can relate to many of your experiences and how it makes difficult tackling everyday life or "frogs". Anyway, hope I've covered everything for now.0 -
Hello Everyone
I've just been reading through this thread and I reckon it's just what I need to help me get things done. I hope you don't mind if I join you. My little one is off school today with septic tonsilitus so havent managed to get much done this morning apart from watching a couple of DVDs and just enjoying being together - its fab. I'm also quite glad to be out of the school playground today as well as I'm going through a tough time with a particular mum.
Anyway today I'd really like to tackle
Make apple pie for OH - done
Ice buns made yesterday for LO - done
Put ironing away - done
Tidy kitchen table (bombsite) -done (only things left are fruitbowls and library books to be returned tomorrow)
Clean bathroom - done
Hope you all have a great day
C x
Well I managed to achieve all the jobs I wanted today and have rewarded myself with an hour comping.
Thank you all for the very warm welcome, the support you give each other is fantastic and I can relate to so many of your lives.
Take care, looking forward to coming back tomorrow.Goodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

Anyway sorry rant over. Decided to concentrate on my family.
This is so me, the trouble I'm having is that one particular mum from our year group has decided and made it known before the 6 wks holidays that she was no longer going to have anything to do with us anymore because my little boy invited a younger friend of his to his birthday party and not her son (her son and mine dont play together, not that they dont get on its just they play different things). During the party all the other mums were talking about it and her statements (this was the first thing I knew about it) and basically !!!!!ing about her, anyway during the holidays she apologised to them and said maybe she'd over reacted, again nothing said to me by anyone and me and my little one werent invited to any meet-ups during holidays.
First day back at school was horrendous (for me anyway) the atmosphere was awful, all the mums were speaking to me until this other person turned up and then basically cut me dead, she is forever looking down her nose at me or looking me up and down. This has been going on for 4 weeks now but on Tuesday things came to a head when I caught her looking at my son as if he was something on the bottom of her shoe, so I had to say something, I tried to be discreet just saying Im not bothered whether she ever speaks to me again and asking her not to keep looking down her nose at us cos she isnt any better than us but her reply was that she was and that I have a bad attitude and should sort myself out, I said it was ridiculous that this all stemmed from a childs birthday party, it ended with her hand in front of my face loudly saying "Go away, its not appropriate", all this in front of my little one. I ended leaving her in the playground with the other mums and me leaving on my own - I assume she held court in the playground cos in the afternoon at pick-up time only one person spoke to me and her grinning like a bloody cheshire cat - I didnt have to pick-up (LO had cross country)but didnt want her to think I was avoiding her.
Felt like a leper yesterday and was quite glad not to have to go today and I do have lots of people I could speak to as I hate to see people alone in the playground but am worried that will lead to them being talked about too. Really sorry Ive bored you all.
Thank you for listening, feel so much better for getting it off my chest.Goodreads 2025 Challenge :16/75

Hi Everyone
Ziggy you didn't bore me, I can assure you! Some women have a very high oppinion of themselves don't they?. It is horrible to have to face something difficulat everyday isn't it? Let's hope she moves onto someone else very very soon. DD is off school again today so didn't have to face anyone today! I currently been serenaded by my DD with an electronic book! Bless her she had a very high tempreture yesterday and not a great night, so we are chilling out today. Hope you manage to get your frogs done today? Great reward. What is swapit?
dannie bertie does enjoy dandelions but I have pick them for him as he lives inside. The summer wasn't great for him and at the end of August he decided to hibernate, but he is so little that he can only hibernate for a short time (usually in my fridege for 6 weeks!). I wouldn't be without my animals. I can't say they are hard work, but I do need to be up to speed with their needs. My rabbit currently lives in the garden, but many of my plants has suffered, so I will have to put him in a hutch next spring, but I have to save up for a really big one as he is used to so much space.
monnagran well done for getting so much done. Just shows what you can acheive if you're off the pc. Thanks also for your kind words and sorry for your loss back in June. My FIL (Grandad) is 91 this year and I am very fond of him. That will be very upsetting when that time finally comes.
Well the weekend is on it's way and hopefully more of this good weather. OH managed to salvage the cable for the garden hoover, so we'll be hoovering up the garden of leaves and my brown bin did eventually get emptied (a tadpole to ring them to remind them!) so that should be a nice easy froglet.
Next week should be back to normal - however I am thinking now that I may decorated our bedroom ...
Hope everyone has a lovely day x
We have Grandad coming down for Christmas which will be lovely. Just got back to normal with all the bedrooms so will have to change them all around again once a date is set. DD is back in her room which is now finshed except for 3 pictures to be put up, need DH to help with this to make sure we get them up straight.Football Widow :footie:

Just whizzing in before I have to pick up the kids from school. I'm sorry some of you have problems at the school gate with the mums - I do too but do you know what I try to rise above it and think they're just not worth it. All stood there in their immaculate designer clothes looking above everyone else - well I'm in my black 3/4 length trousers (slightly dirty as been out in the garden planting some cyclamen and mowing the grass and slightly dog hair too as snuggled up on the sofa with the dog for a 30 mins power nap - bliss
!)
So, today I've put away the dry towels which had been hanging around a bit, let down the hems on DD's trousers (been on my list to do for 2 months!), helped at a coffee morning and then been out in the garden. Not a lot but all little things that make life easier.
GTG - catch you all later xFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
