I've come a long way since then (well technically speaking only 50.3 miles according to google maps) - back then I was unemployed, living on cheap cider and tranquilizers, inadvertently dressing like a young farmer and living in rural wierdness.

Sounds kinda familiar! Do I know you? :D

Enjoy your weekend. Reading your diary has certainly made mine.

Right, that's enough downtime til Christmas methinks - 3 days without a run and throwing caution to the wind with food intake (today being Canadian Thanksgiving made it difficult to be virtuous) has been fun, but now it's time to get back on track. Early night now and then a 4.30 blast through the cobwebs, and fully intend making the next 5 days NSD's.

Ha ha - that comment is almost frightening in its intensity! Are you one of the oddball lurkers watching Mr B jogging at 4am?! ;)

Took all my willpower to go out in the gales this morning but managed a 3k trundle and the weight currently stands at 22-06 with a BMI of 38.28 - so the damage of the dodgy week is not as bad as feared. Moneysaving has to take a higher prioirity now as DD overheard Mrs B say that her mother wants to go to EuroDisney over the Easter holiday. Somehow I doubt there's much discount available over those 2 weeks. Gulp.

LOL, nearly right: I did try but it sort of loses it's immediacy from over 200 miles away!

MrB, well done for your 3K. It takes toughness to get out there and keep going after a break. I think the thing to do about EuroDisney is ask yourself questions along the line of: will she still want to go come say February? (Probably, I guess). Is there a cheaper alternative that would deflect her? Can I win a competition to get there for less? Can we get there at a cheaper time of year? Can I defer it by booking for some time further in the future and doing something else in the meantime?

I'm guessing your kids are quite small? If you saved the trip till later they would be more likely to remember it.

Actually there's a thread about it here.

Was expecting a more mellow day at work but got sucked into another minefield. Robustly argued my corner and got the result I wanted but the pressure is definitely on. Like most workplaces, you're only as good as your last mistake these days. Anyways, a NSD in the bag and tomorrow night I need to calculate what the total debt has gone down to. Am going to enjoy some white wine now.
