a National Savings book with twenty quid in it and the receipt for the Calor Gas canister that is sitting angrily in my shed. Will take that back to B&Q and get some refund. Go me, all moneysaving and that.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh, and mandragora - get on with tidying up.
I did, honest sir, despite the mockery yesterday, I did get on with it eventually. It even earned ' 'Everything looks lovely, so fresh' comment when she arrived, so it was worth it - and I'm always happier when the house is clean again. I too have a gas canister sulking in the back of the shed, along with a stash of Yr 10 marking brooding in the dining room. Both can wait till next week, I've decided. Good luck with the rest of the week - keep it up - you bring a smile to my face when I read your diary.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
Hi Mr B,
I've read through your diary over the past two days (yes, all of it...it's been a quiet weekend) and I've enjoyed hearing about the highs and lows.
I also have a chuck of debt, and equally large chunk of weight to lose, so will follow your progress if you don't mind. I think I'm a bit like you in being a bit of a 'all or nothing' type of person at times (no offence meant) but I hope to make this year more consistent and ultimately more effective in the long term.
Good luck with job preparations and please keep us updatedDebt remaining:

Slight lapse yesterday - bottle of wine was purchased and consumed (shock) but only to activate a voucher (yay) at the local expensive minisupermarket (boo).
Have kinda made up for it this morning with a 8km Wii Fit trundle (mild applause), and the various tortures that comprise the 2nd day routines of the 30 day Ab and Squat challenges (fanfare).
And yesterday was a special occasion, I cherish those Mondayless Sundays without the looming gloom that usually kicks in after lunchtime.
Today has to see the return of the Gas, the CPP claim form filled out, a research expedition online about NS&I, more research about kids bikes and a trip to the loft to put away some treaured heirlooms for our grandchildren. Not that treasured - mainly flatpack, but will be retro-cool by the time they are needed again.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

More moneysavingness: got a callback about the free loft insulation thingy that was on this site - am especially excited about the potential of money to contribute to loft clearance (we have a giant old water tank in there) and the £50 Argos voucher. And Mrs B has decided to take some stuff back to Next. It's all heading towards yoghurt-knitting over here at Maison Bloater.
Will not add anything else about dogwalkers on here for fear of causing offence, there's too much controversy in this nice little part of the forum already - what with AlexLK in full-on 'kill the poor' mode at the moment (although I am wondering if his whole diary is a windup - it would make my day if when their house is sold due to the inevitable divorce the new buyers turn up in a caravan and park on the drive after having asked if they can bury their dead dog in the garden - these are probably references that only longterm readers of the Houses forum will get).2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Don't worry Mr.B, us responsible dog walkers are more likely in agreement than suffering offence. :cool2:
Like Penny, I too almost caused terminal damage to m' keyboard at your final comment - well done for voicing a thought many of us must have had! :rotfl:0 -

I am with you and Penny re AK.He has to be trying to get material for a script or something or maybe just an attention seeker. I feel sorry for those who get sucked in............
Someone posted on DF roll of honour thread - same part of the world similar name and level of debt similar personal issues............same person IMO but sounded more genuine.Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Ah dear Mr B, some good memories there :rotfl:.
Hey, I remember that thread about the caravan on the drive, I lost track of it after a while though. It was so funny while it lasted.
I hadn't read AlexLK's diary and I've just had a quick read of the last few pages. The comments about the nativity play surely have to be tongue in cheek.0
