Oh Granariesgirl, just hazarding a rough guess here, and I could be totally off the wall, but .... I am plumping for the young kids playing the 18 games :mad:Must use my stash up!0

Bit of a hijack going on here Mr B......sorry:o
My friend had a unique way of dealing with a parent of a friend of her son who, when said son returned from a play date, told her that they had played on the PS ( whatever number). The games they were playing had a range of 12 year to 15 year rating ( boys where about 7 at the time) A week later it was the play dates birthday so my friend bought some lads mags ( not quite top shelf) and wrapped them up as a present. She did warn the mother that maybe she would like to check before child opened them................the mother was totally confused and did not get the whole age appropriate thing. Needless to say there were no more play dates:rotfl::rotfl:
Incidentally the child who plays GTA on a regular basis does so with his dad who is an educated man in a profession who should know better:mad:Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Ah, the wonders of teaching.
I'm just glad I don't work as an educator. Sometimes it is bad-enough being an ACSL.Never Knowingly Understood.

I think people don't know their kids then. My older one would be ok with the last two harry potter ones, but not my younger one. As they would watch them together then they both lose out.
But GTA with people getting decked by the car, er no I don't want to see that so why would I want my kids to?
we do have some adult rated games that the adults play, but they are kept in our room so there is no 'temptation' for little people to creep up stairs to 'just have a look'
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Pol Roger OK? It's my favourite when the finances allow (haven't had any for years, sniff)!

So glad to have my personal experience confirmed that it's nothing to do with social status / education: any parent can be cr##! :cool:I'm sorry too, Mr B, about the thread hijack. My apologies!:o0 -

Blimey - been forever since I posted on here. Last day of work for a week today so I have every intention of getting stuff sorted in the next few days.
Good stuff.
- My long lost cheque from Job 2b appeared in the post yesterday and so has to be paid in.
- I have my enthusiasm for running back again. Brother-in-law has just spent the last week here and is running the Frankfurt marathon this weekend and his diet appeared to consist solely of beer so it can't be such a bad thing. Will try a trundle this week.
- After a fairly liquid week due to aforementioned guest I am actually looking forward to getting home from work on a Friday night and having a cup of tea, going to try and do a grog-free month.
- Payday was today and it's looking (crosses fingers. then realizes it is rather difficult to type with crossed fingers and so uncrosses them - but you get the point) like it might be the first one since my downfall where I am not tapping Mrs B for some of her hardearned to pay the bills. I know it's all shared and blah blah but it means she can start squirrelling away money for next summer (or rather paying down some more on one of our evil CCs that we can subsequently put next summer onto).
Not so Good Stuff
- Fixing toilet flusher thingy. Only a tiny 35p membrane thingy. Trouble is, the really excellent/scary 'proper' Sarf London plumbing shop where I used to go with various bits of pipes and cisterns and come out feeling like I knew what I was doing, has gone. So I will have to find somewhere else. Not a big deal I know but that combined with unhooking the flusher thingy and it's looking like at least a shoddy afternoon in store. But not as shoddy as
- Finding the phone. It went walkies Tuesday evening. Me and brother-in-law were watching the football on the TV (in fact on a free pass code I got for NOW TV - yay me for being so MSE), whilst Mrs B and her sister were out Bluewatering. My boy and my nephew were arguing over my phone and the last time I remember seeing it was during dinner (Own brand value Fish Fingers since you ask - yay me again I am proper MSE). By the morning when I needed it before I left for work it had gone. So I know it's in the house. Or in the bins. Had a brief look in the bins. Unfortunately nephew has just turned 1. Hence he's still in nappies. Hence there are a lot of nappies in our bin. Any other week and emptying the contents of the bin in the driveway and scrabbling around would not be so unpleasant. This time, it's a little bit more.. nappy. But anyway, we have all exhausted the sane possibilities of where it could be in the house - I have even checked the teapot twice.
- Look for a new job. Having thought my rise to the top was on the cards, after spending six hours on Sunday filling out and submitting various guff it appears the cards have been stacked against me. Thus I'm kinda duty-bound to now look elsewhere probably for an Easter start. Which is a shame.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
