Another bombshell landed in my path today - went over a speedbump - triggered the automatic passenger protection system on my bonnet so airbags were released and car undriveable. Had to be towed back to main dealer. Then followed a row between dealers and insurance co. Insurance co won which meant I am no longer eligible for courtesy car from dealership and my policy does not have one. Plus an excess of £600. I've worked so hard these last few weeks to get us over the finishing line and maybe have a little breathing space and it's all gone now - those 20 hour days were utterly pointless. And looking forward to a nice hour long walk home in the sun in my suit. And the kids will be picked a lot later than usual as their mum will have to get them. Feeling exceptionally sorry for myself.

Delurking to offer commiserations and encouragement - your 20 hour days were far from pointless (think how much deeper and muddier a hole you'd be in now, had you not made such efforts)!

Looking on the bright side; your walk home will shift a few calories.. :o

Thats a bit worrying that the airbags can go off so easily, I shall respect speed bumps more hereforthwith ! What kind of car were you driving Mr B ?
Hope for an overcast afternoon for your walk home !

Airbag speed bump thing sounds just pants.......no consolation but at least its only a few days to 6 or so weeks off :) I had a friend who was sitting at traffic lights and airbags deployed - no speed bump or any movement whatsoever involved - very scary.

really feel for you mr. b. all i can say is onwards and upwards.

how much more than the insurance xs will it cost - do you know?

at least if it was ?faulty it is sorted now rather than going off at a worse time??

i bought a new car nearly 2 years ago, and after only 3 months it got 'keyed' down the entire length of the car. i decided to pay for the repair myself and it cost me £600 it really grated for ages, but i did get over it eventually:(.

What a crappy day for you yesterday!
Bear in mind what *Robin* says above, if it wasn't for all your hard work recently this would have been an even bigger problem.

Try not to let it get you down too much or knock your momentum, you were going great guns there!

I know you were knocked back with your PPI claim - just letting you know we pursued another claim for a mortgage we had with HB*S when it was just the "Shoddyfax" - we wouldn't let them off the hook although they tried their damnedest to wriggle off - paid out £2598 - this policy finished over 12 years ago so dont be put off may be worth another try
