Thanks for the offer of the Rose, but this week's Bloater is a virtuous chap full of vim and vigour (whatever that means). I'm sure Vim used to be a cleaning product, and I'd be more likely to reach for the Cherry Brandy that lives on top of our fridge (kept solely for the purpose of silencing one particular friend who gets a bit outspoken and stroppy at times - give her a class of that and she shuts right up) than go for the Bleach. Anyways, that's all a massive digression from the fact that I am still inching ever closer to the target. Unexpected sales of 9 records last night to a feller from Turkey means I am getting even closer to the target and can start even thinking about paying the nursery bill upon my return to work on Monday. Must dash, Mrs B is hovering.

That's fantastic news!!!! Way to go Mr B :T:T:T

Mr B I haven' read your whole thread and I'm sure you've thought of this but I was wondering why you ran 2 cars? Any chance of getting rid of 1?
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

(most of them are absolute junk but now I'm starting to believe that anything can be shifted on eBay)

I've bought quite a lot of stuff on ebay that others might consider junk! Out of print books, DVDs, CDs, I've even replaced my favourite broken mugs and bowls with replicas and bought extra pieces for my set of Denby and I've bought replacement pens,etc.....I love ebay for this fact. It makes you feel like you can usually track down something you love....I'm also pretty green so I like to buy stuff that is secondhand...

Just noticed the free listings weekend email! Good times indeed. And only nine more days of the mother-in-law. Even better times ahead.
Plus a Californian is interested in buying my elderly Oric-1 computer. I'd be well happy for the old girl to have a new lease of life stateside. I'm sure getting an Oric, when everyone else around me got a ZX Spectrum back in those formative years done something to my psyche. Still, most of those mocking Sinclair kids are now either dead or alcoholics. Whereas I'm 301k in debt and morbidly obese...

Perfect way to start the Friday evening - just got a bid in from the Californian dude for the elderly Oric computer - so at least £49 quid coming my way in 4 days meaning I will definitely be able to settle the nursery bill this month without taking a chunk out of next month's pay. And cos it's a nursery only open during school term time, the manager there will not have noticed that the money didn't go in at the start of the month. So am rather pleased and very very thankful to the good folk of this thread for inspiring me. In other old computer news, dug the Ataris out of their exile, and managed to get one to power up - going to put together a big bundle of stuff in one lot and list that tomorrow as well, plus Mrs B's clothes castoffs. I am now going to raise a toast to all those in MSEland, as I got a £4 bottle of Carmenere from Morrisons. It's almost like drinking nice wine.
