If you had been barefoot, now, it would have been lego.

Or worse than that....the danger of a lurking upturned sticklebrick!!

I don't think it beats Lego though - what about Stickle Bricks?

Ha ha - great minds think alike! I can still remember my dad swearing when he stepped on one of mine 25 years ago!! :rotfl:

I think you've found another vein to mine, MrB! Sounds like a good time tho, and hope there's more coming your way today.
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Today is DS's first trip to the cinema. OK we haven't gone the whole thrifty hog and packed a flask and sandwiches but we have negoitated down (based on a milkshake being the key element of the meal that the kids wanted) from Wagamamma, via Ed's Diner, down to McDonalds. And are hence saving ourselves about £30 in the process. And before anyone goes on about the horrors contained in their meals - we know. But they taste great.
Was up at 4 and was sorely tempted to put the running shoes on. I didn't - but the fact the temptation is returning is a good good thing. Done a whole load more eBay listing, then noticed on the last transaction it charged me 5p - so I'd gone over my monthly limit.
Right, off to shave off the fuzz to lose the Woodsman look and get myself ready for the day. Fingers crossed there are no incidents....

  • Day passed off relatively painlessly - I was the first to fall asleep during Arthur Christmas, followed by DS. Mrs B made some spectacular homemade sausage rolls this afternoon which was cool, festive, and MSE all rolled into one. Had a quick look at stock levels in the shed. Even getting past the £1000 mark is going to be more of a challenge than I first thought - no items closed today so still at the same level. Did our monthly spreadsheet - details later but the headlines are that for the first month since we started this ALL of our debts (inc loans, overdrafts and credit cards) are down on last month. Which is rather good. Total headline debt stat is now a trim 288.5k rather than the 301.5k it was back 4 months ago. This surely is a cause for a bottle of red wine and thankfully - cos nobody ever has any clue what to get me for Christmas - red wine aplenty is around. Hoping to get something out on Kindle for Sunday / Monday but that's going to take some work.

I've just realised I can't find the Christmas card postal collection. Extreme MSE? Actually feel quite down that no cards will get sent. Torn between the bahhumbug attitude of DH, and my love of family.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
