What a lovely post, MrB, and I'm glad to hear you're not pushing yourself on the running. Sitting back and checking out how ebay actually went is a great idea. I used to be on one of the dfw threads, "make £10 a day", and for months at a time I hit that target, but the only reason I knew is that when the dosh came in from various areas, I wrote it down - its really heartening financially, to keep track of what you're doing.

You have a great time over Christmas with your lovely OH and the littlies

  • Evening all. Maison Bloater today took on the look on Apocpalyse Now mixed with Babe - thanks to some well-meaning friends dropping by and early presents being considered by the children to be fair game, both little Bloaters were armed with hundreds of beads, Hungry Hippos, a talking (in a really annoying voice) car and a variant of the old Operation game but based on removing food from a pig. DS went one stage further with the porcine theme and removed all the balls from Hungry Hippos, replacing them with mini sausage rolls. Whilst making the game far more lifelike it did tend to clog up the hippos and more worryingly was the amount of small balls rolling ominously around on the laminate flooring, Absolute death trap. All this happened directly after we'd attempted baking with the kids - letting them loose with the hundreds and thousands was (until the Hungry Hippo/Sausage Roll combo) a stupid thing to do. Hence a lot of today has involved cleaning up, but in between it all, like some addict, I have been sneakily listing more records on eBay. I play hardball with slow payers now and report them after 4 days, this has resulted today in me getting a big £3.62 profit to add to December's total.

:T:T:T for the £3.62 -all grist to the mill. :)

Sorry I had to laugh about the hundreds and thousands, ball bearings or whatever they feed hippos, and sausage rolls. :D They have sabotage off to a fine art, those kids of yours. If you had been barefoot, now, it would have been lego.

I don't think it beats Lego though - what about Stickle Bricks?
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
