  • Gearing myself up for the epic Shed battle. Was up at 4.30 but took the nosebleed as a sign to take things easy and not do the run. Fingers crossed the rain holds off.

Yikes, yes, nose bleeds are *so* not good. But the religious experience of the shed is going to go ahead? You're very brave two weeks before Christmas! I'm feeling very pleased I've managed to do about ten Christmas cards this morning, earliest ever

Good luck with the shed Mr B. Just a thought, if you find old forgotten toys in there could you wrap them up and give them to the kids as stocking fillers? I know that my brother did that once and it was so funny to see the kids get excited about toys that they had previously discarded as boring. It was a really good christmas despite him being on his "uppers".

Love it! I have just spent hours sorting clothes because 18 y.o DD 'hasn't got any socks' and 'needs a wardrobe'. I won't argue with her about the wardrobe but there is nowhere to put one, but I have matched umpteen socks - do you think she'd notice if I wrapped some for a stocking filler?! I could return some of her b/f's socks too, as a stocking filler for him! Not to mention various tops and dresses that belong to assorted friends of hers... I could be the most generous Mum on the block. :D

Mr B - good luck with the shed! If you come across any odd socks, I probably have the pair to them... Are you making space for cardboard dinosaurs? :D

Funnily enough, odd socks are really *in* at the minute: I worked in a shoe shop fitting children's shoes for ages, and fairly recently loads of kids came in with intentionally odd socks. The mums would look mortified when they got them to take off their shoes/trainers (as said children intended, I imagine! ;) ), but I used to laugh and tell the mums they are all doing it at the minute. Cue some more molified-looking mums. ;)
