Re: ebay/Paypal Fees, you don't need to look at the actual sites to work it out. There are free calculator tools that will work these out for you.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0

just another note re. sky.
we also rang them to negotiate.
i calculated how much cheaper BT was for our TV - even had the conversation re. 'no, i know BT is not quite the same, but considering how much cheaper they are i would like a common-sense price negotiation please without having to be put through to cancellations' - cue 25% off for 12 months.
as for ebay, i do weigh everything before i list, add a little weight on for packing materials and use my little Royal Mail leaflet.
BUT, i still get it wrong sometimes (like today lol):o. i also take 20% off the sale price for my paypal and ebay fees. the little bits left over in my current account help cushion things:)0 -
Completely off-topic, but jeez Firesidemaid, that is one impressive signature! :T0

aw, thanks vinternet:) all down to this site. up until april 07 and discovering this site and the first MFi3 (Mortgage free in 3 years) thread i had NEVER made an O/P in my life!
I was also really lucky that i had just taken out a lifetime offset @ 0.79% above base rate (at that point think it was @ 5.79%).
i have done surveys, couponing, mystery shopping and i am a fiendish ebayer! but i find the best way to save and o/p is not to spend;)
as i work in the nhs you never know what will happen, but once it is paid off i would only have to earn enough money to pay the basic bills.
as i say, couldn't have done it without this site:D

So true, I'd never even heard of overpaying before I stumbled onto this site - I'm mortgage free now because I downsized, and I wouldn't have made the bad investment decision I did if I'd been focussing on overpaying. Good for you, firesidemaid!
See MrB, it can be done!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Am getting my inspiration back again - even told DD that I *might* venture out for a run in the morning. Have the tracksuit, mp3 player and trainers all set up in the porch so there are no obstacles in my way. I then have a day of grappling with the tardis-like shed, which is, to all intents and purposes akin to Moby !!!!!!. It's my own personal obsession and nemesis and yet I could not live without it. However it must be tamed so it and I can co-exist peacefully. There are too many unanswered questions, unfinished projects and forgotten plans lurking in them there boxes and it must all come out to be resorted and restrained. And after this quasi-religious experience is over, myself and Mrs B are going to sit down Saturday night and go through everything finance related and update the spreadsheet so much that it sparkles. And then, on Sunday, before visiting Santa at Bluewater (free), I am going to weigh myself. And update my signature. And at that point my head will be firmly out of the sand again.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Socks Mr B! Better sort out the socks tonight. You don't want to be running in wet socks at this time of year. Or odd socks either. Wouldn't look right with the new track suit bottoms.0
