  • I wouldn't necessarily ban people who have had a dispute, there are some 'people' on ebay who seem to kick up a stink about nothing and then never reply when you try to help. I've sold things for hundreds that i've been petrified about and had fab feedback and i've sold really good stuff for 50p and been to hell and back. The last one was a Barbour jacket that the buyer claimed wasn't a Barbour (labels still in, it was BNWT, branded stud fasteners etc etc) unfortunately in the world of ebay the buyer is always correct.
Butti the other option could be a fixed price on Gumtree, that way people can come and look and you don't have the hassle of them not recieving it or changing their minds later.

  • Butti as long as you send it well packaged and with a signature, ie courier, recorded delivery or special, and it is fully insured for the correct value you should be fine. Just be honest in your description, take plenty of photos and don't end your listing to clash with soaps, X Factor or Strictly. I find listings ending about 8.30pm on a Mon or Tues evening get the most buyers.

Beautifully sidestepped - we'll have you on Strictly before you know it. :D

Hope your little trip goes equally smoothly!

I wouldn't bother flogging a DVD player on fleabay. Why pay to get something second hand, when for £20 you can buy a new one.

Still might be worth listing on the free listing weekend, but not otherwise, I agree.

Hope you're doing well, MrB, and enjoying your weekend.

Morning all. Today's the day I get back on track with the twin goals of weightloss and moneymaking. Friday's hospital sample passed off without any incident, and in the evening it was the high life in a Hilton for Mrs B's leaving do. We stayed over and were both a bit ropey yesterday. What I need to get sorted asap is -
    - Got back on the scales to find out the awful truth
    - Get all the debt statistics up to date, and maybe take out the Mortgage / Car Lease / Loan payments from the totals, as the thing we need to get down is the Credit Card balances, and they are being masked in amongst everything else
    - Scour the house for ebayable material - much I have a love/hate thing with the site, it has got us out of jail a coupla times recently, the extra money helps a lot.
    - Plan an exercise schedule that is not solely dependant on me going out for a run - it's getting harder and harder to motivate myself, plus it is a nightmare there (there are piles of leaves on the pavements round here which are turning into a mushy slippy Bloater trap)
    - Work out a way to maximise sales of the three existing Kindle books, get the fourth and final one finished and out there, and then concentrate on the new funnier stuff and see if I can catch the pre-Christmas market.
    - Fix the electricity meter recording thingy to see how much we are unnecessarily burning.

  • Been away and just caught up.

I knew I loved you for a reason....a man of principle.

I also think you're right re the mortgage figures coming out of the total. The CC debt is the evil debt. It will also motivate you more I think when you see that huge total come down overnight!

MrsB's leaving do! Of course! Sounds like you enjoyed it :D

You're right on all counts on the cc, ebay and exercise - hammer that cc down, but don't hammer yourself into the pavement. I'm *collecting* leaves at the mo, they decompose over the course of a year into a lovely black type stuff for the garden - not much nutrition in them apparently, but they really improve the structure of the soil, and my soil is so clayey in some places, you can literally cut it with a knife
