Followed the vibe tonight and have removed all the drawers of clutter in the house (there was only 5 of them) and have attempted to go through them - but it. is. taking. too long. Found 20p though! And 3 first-class stamps so I guess I've earned around a quid for my troubles.

Would these be your Man Drawers a la Michael McIntyre style. First the shed, then the loft, now the man drawers are you sure that you are not Michael McIntyre?

Sooo MSE Mr B! You will be picking up 'road kill' next while you pound the streets of The Big City - in MSE terms that means dropped/lost coins I believe - round here its the traditional road kill fare - mainly pheasents ( stupid birds) and bunnies and the occasional sheep - cant say I have ever been tempted, although I know some who do ;)

  • Man drawers? Michael McIntyre? Both things equally repulse me. Nope, the drawers I were sorting out are in the kitchen and hallway. I have only just finished having stopped for a 2 hour nap around 2am. Disappointing return in the end, 63p, a few stamps and a bin full of junk. We now only have half a drawer of random stuff which Mrs B can peruse at her leisure. She is on a high after passing her headship course yesterday and so if she had come down to a kitchen full of pen lids, nails and the little bits of clocks you tend to find in the pockets of fools, it would have deflated her mood. Hence I've stayed up virtually all flipping night trying to put things right. Of course the trouble with sorting out drawers is that the end result has absolutely no bearing on the appearance of the house - having spent the best part of 8 hours on this mission, the house looks exactly the same as before - yes I have the satisfaction of knowing the drawers are organised to within an inch of their lives, but was it worth all the effort - hmm, don't want to dwell on that one too much. But I would recommend it as a useful way to while away some hours - I'll have to recommend it to my striking colleagues to give them something to do on Wednesday.

Will do an hour on Wii Fit tonight, it won't make up for the lost run but it's better than nothing - and nothing's all I'm capable of doing at the moment.

I hate drawer clearing, there's always something you've kept for years "just in case" and decide it's finally time to get rid only to either need it or have someone ask for it 2 days later!

Oops, didn't mean to offend. Yes I understand your pain about spending hours clearing drawers and then realising everything else looks the same but KC is so right. Now you can fill them up again so that in 12 months you can do it all again. Never mind shed tetris when you can have fun with drawers.

Another one here who cant sleep. Pass the coffee pot

Is there a spare cup needing a taker please?

Mr B, we can always find you some ingenious excuses to have everyone notice how tidy your drawers are. Their brilliance will of course bedazzle and distract from any foibles the rest of the house may have.

For a starter: 'All this cardboard dinosaur-making has given me cramp in my hands. Would you mind just opening that drawer for me.. no, maybe the one next to it... and see if my dinosaur-induced cramp tablets are in there? No? How about the end drawer then? Oh bother, Mrs B must have finished the last of them for her course.'

Many congrats to Mrs B, by the way! Your household is doing well.
