not sure if this is the right place to post, but i hope someone may be able to help.i have been reading some of the posts here and everyone seems so friendly.i finally decided to tackle my debt problems and have been in contact with payplan. i need to now write to all my creditors to explain about my current situation.which basically is there is more going out than coming in.:o . i also need to make a token payment to all creditors until my debt plan is sorted out. the thing is i hav,nt got a clue what to write without it sounding like i have been a complete idiot to let it all get so out of hand :(. does anyone know what a basic letter should sound like so i can explain my situation please.any advice would be appreciated.
thank you as well for having a forum like this to know i am not alone in these sort of circumstances.:)

Hello Candy, MrB is almost a newbie himself, so I'm taking it on myself to answer your post. Welcome to dfw on mse!

First thing, this is MrB's diary, and you won't get the help you need on here. I strongly suggestion you click the link to this thread:

which is on the Debt Free Wannabe board (you'll have got here from there, I think) - thats the place to go to for first time posters, help, advice, the works.

    Good Luck!

Sorry to hear you are in this situation (and I am afraid I can't help), but as Karmacat says people on the debt free board can help you - and if you were to start your own thread as well then people can jump in with advice as well :o

  • In the late 80s British Telecom decided to change their logo from the simple T in a circle to two figures with a trumpet (or something like that - I'm sure if I googled it I could find a correct description but I ain't) and as part of this expensive rebranding all staff were issued with very slick workclothes - my Dad got a whole range of suits and shirts in dark blue and grey (entirely inappropriate for the job he did) and a bodywarmer/coat combo in a lovely chickendiarrhoea dark green. Mindful of the fact that a) he didn't do coats and b) his son needed a coat, he ordered the XXL one rather than the M that would have fitted him. This coat has stayed with me throughout my life and this morning - having dodged the bullets of waking son (he went back to sleep) and missing socks (dug some out of the laundry pile) I prepared to set off for my run with a new playlist, new tracksuit trousers, and new hope, but I knew I needed another level of clothing, so I got out the bodywarmer and zipped it up. The years have not been good to either of us, where before there was a bit of mutual space and leeway, now there was none, it was snug but not in a cosy consensual way. It was like wearing a bulletproof vest, and with the ribbed stitched design if I had had a backpack I would truly have resembled an Obese Ninja Turtle. The run started off well but the three weeks of inactivity had caught up with me. I'd almost got to the end when I had to stop for air, and I was sweating and panting an unfriendly neighbour walked past and winked a knowing wink at me. As I trundled home I pondered the significance of this, realising only as I started to type this posting that the reason he was being smug was that I was standing wheezing outside the rear entrance to the brothel/bathroom shop. So no doubt word will be on the street that my early morning runs are nothing more than a cover for something altogether less wholesome.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I had to read that again. Oh dear MrB, its a good job MrsB reads you on here, so she knows not to believe the rumours that are now going to spread locally

Well done on getting out there running - and how lovely of your dad :T

  • Think I've got back on track just at the right time, we have totally had our eye off the ball financially and sorting out DD's birthday and getting the majority of the Christmas presents and a few other abnormal expenses have meant that were it not for the eBay money gathered last month, we would have been up against it. Just managed to do a 2week shop for £85 which took a lot of planning but was worth the effort and basically I have to set all systems on upping the income. Weight loss should be easy til the end of the month as we have no money left for any booze, crisps, pizzas, etc, plus the running. Cross-trainer is now upstairs in bedroom so Mrs B has no excuses and the shed is jam packed with stuff that either has to be sold, donated, skipped, or else is supposed to live in the shed. Gotta start work on that today.
Taken a new approach with eBay - all the things I delisted last week I have relisted but with higher prices (it's free listing weekend this one) to see if that will inspire any more interest. Have a few watchers already and the auctions are due to end Thursday, and am about to gather together another chunk of stuff to put on with a Friday end. Also need to set up an account for Mrs B so as we can get around the 100 items a month limit.
Don't think Kindle is the way forward for me to make money - sales are pretty much stuck and unless I can think of some clever and free marketing blitz I imagine they will stay that way. Was pondering putting the next one on as a freebie - and seeing if that would generate much more traffic, but then what I have written is hardly mainstream and will never have a mass audience. Anyways, bear with me this next fortnight, no wine will make a sad Bloater.
