Think we all have the 'keep trap shut and head down' at work requirement.

Good move mr bloater although it sometimes feels like your job gets in the way off money making you have to remind yourself it's actually your main way of making money. Mores the pity!!0

Just catching up - glad the chest pain is "only" muscular - but know how much that hurts so be easy on yourself and rest as much as you can.
Don't think anyone is at all offended by you talking about your kindle books - personally am full of admiration! People just wanting to help and a blog *would* be a way of reaching your wider audience as would Twitter - but take your time. If your plan is making money from blogging then the best way to do that is to sell stuff (ideally your own stuff), and to sell stuff, you need to build a following, and to build a following, you need to put regular, quality content out there. So as KC says it is for the longer term. May or may not be a priority for you at the moment but am sure you could do all three if you wanted.
Good luck keeping schtum at work!

Morning MrB! Loving the sig - all that record keeping has paid off already
and a *fantastic* figure on ebay in October, may I say
**beams happily for MrB**
Jobs.... yeah .... keeping the boss happy ... yeah. Nuffink more to say on that. Oh I know - don't sit in wet shoes and trousers all day long. There you go, the problems of the universe sorted in one2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Can't seem to switch off. Instead of taking a golden and totally rare oppurtunity to nap in the daytime I have instead - taken photos for the next batch of records to be listed, done some work on book 3 for Kindle and attempted (til my arms gave out) to cut my quality cardboard up into LP sized chunks. Seeing as its the stuff BMW use to package Mini windscreens in, it is (as I said before) the mahoghany of cardboard - the ultimate pinnacle of cardness, but that means that my blunt Ikea scissors are having big problems with it. Have resisted the painkillers til now but am going to have to dope myself up.
I knoiw about this one (well apart from the e-bay stuff). I don't seem to be able to stop - getting better but not much. Problem with this one is that eventually one gets really exhausted. Ironically, the thing that keeps me going is running and going to the gym. Oh, and drugs...
Watch it! With so much 'negative wealth' (debt) getting rid of it is a marathon and so you need to pace yourself (and use your head not your muscle). Sprinting can be very counter-productive.

Oh, is that a polite way of telling me to !!!! off? Apologies if it looks like I've been hawking my Kindle books (with their combined sales of 23 it obviously has not been a particularly successful strategy!) - that was not the intention at all, and I'm sorry if it's offended anyone.
This suggestion may be rather good! I started a blog - the best thing I ever did. Reasons:
1) Great discipline for writing; one has to publish at schedule.
2) Loads of writing done! Of course loads of it is cr*p - but some of it is really hot. And the 'hot' part are the nugets I want (and are usually hard to come up with).
3) Having a blog is a vehicle of co-creation - readers are involved in the creative process. I learn to talk to my readers (not just lecturing them) and they help me create by suggesting directions, commenting, telling me where I am going wrong (or right). I love it.
4) Getting your blog in the top 200 000 starts bringing money in (this is hard work though). And it brings in passive income from advertising (and membership sites).
Worth a try, I say. I still write here, mind. But I don't do e-bay - thinking of selling our cr*p (everything that I don't find useful or beautiful) but have not got around to it; and suspect it will be car-boots rather than e-bay - an opportunity for personal growth.

And can you imagine the following if your diaries suddenly started to be a list of statistics ending with a line: 'and I've put details in my blog'?! (Though I think you would find a more interesting way to say it).
I thoroughly enjoy your writing, Mr B, and I wouldn't want to lose you from diaries - but if the rumours of an income stream from blogging are true, and you ever feel the lack of a plate to juggle, you would be sure to have a following.Miggy

OMG No! Not at all! I'm sorry if that message made you think that:o.
Quite the opposite in fact - I just thought it might be another way to make money out of your natural writing talent. Could you even have a fictional character blog, so we don't have to share you?
I don't have a kindle, but have asked my OH if i can download your books to his. I like the 'dark side', so am really looking forward to it:).
After telling my OH about your vinyl selling success, he has also played shed tetris and we currently have approx. 300 7 inches piled up in our conservatory:eek:.0 -
You are an inspiration to us all Mr B.
Well done on the signature. I find it is motivating when you look back at it a few months down the line, and even though you may not have updated it, you will know how much things have improved since you first recorded it.DFW Nerd 1394.
