    God Rising that is appalling.........
KJ can only equate this to my husband he started off private... we initially paid 700 pounds about five years ago to start an investigation into his health problems... but we could not afford anymore... after that it was either NHS or Private... since then it has been very two tiered it was prompter, a better more efficient service with private, no appointment cancelled, wrong... saw the consultant every time not just his registrar but we had to decide and it came down to cost.. since then NHS has not been great, not the staff but the !!!! up`s, cancellations...
I am sorry but it made me laugh when I saw the pampering with Kate and the Royal baby.... Just because my husband is not royalty he dosent deserve some respect, same as KJ, Taxi and others.... not particularly anti-royalist.... just pro.. fairness, justice we pay our taxes, work for this service it really does need to be sorted... Sorry KJ ranting again....:rotfl:

    Hi,

    I can't afford a completely private route so that's a no no.

Been at GPs today. They were really good, phoned at 8:30 seen at 9:50. I'm in pain across my breast and it's been getting steadily worse. Will raise with onco on Thursday. Didn't have anything like this last time so maybe it's pressing against a nerve.

GP used to work in Borders Hospital and said grab it with both hands. Its a nice drive and will get you in quicker with luck. If it is growing and causing this pain then I just need to get it shrinking asap.

Managed a days work from home. Mainly involved telling various peeps what's happening. Everyone has been beyond nice, very touched at all the good will and support. Will be in office tomorrow. Managed not to cry down the phone yet so hopefully can keep that up in the office too.

I don't know where you are in East Lothian, but will it not be as quick to get the Borders, than the Western ( I'm assuming its the western?) Sometimes driving through Edinburgh can be a nightmare.

    Hi,

I shall route thingy it. GP said it took her 90 minutes from Edinburgh, but I don't know where in Edinburgh she started from. Western is about 30-40 minutes away from me.

Route thingy says about 40 miles. So probably about an hour on those roads. Not deadly tbh. I'm ready to go for what brings me fastest relief. I'll plan a way to get there when I know where there is.

Bast...no worries. You rant away my friend. It is iniquitous but still better than US and infinitely better than many countries where you'd get absolutely nothing.

This little diary is open to all opinions and options. One of my colleagues has now taken out cancer cover so that should the worse ever happen she'll get a tidy lump sum on diagnosis. That's a good thing.

I'm going to have a handful of pain pills and get ready for work tomorrow. I really am going to miss it.

You must be closer to town than me - Western takes me around an hour ... I'm around 25 mins to The Jewel.

You may be able to get onto the A68 higher up than me (I have to back-track up the way and join at Fala - but it's still quicker than going down the way) which may make it a bit easier :)

You know .... I used to have that - I got it when I worked at As*da many, many years ago as we got it discounted as a perk .... not sure what happened to it but I've not got it anymore (and really wish I did)

Hope you're not in as much pain today and having a good day at work

    Hello.

I've been doped up on pain meds all day. Keep nodding off on the sofa. Didn't feel safe to drive or alert enough to work.

Pains manageable now so going to take another dose and try to get a good sleep.

Plan for tomorrow is work then oncologist then meeting a friend for coffee.

I'm feeling pretty good within myself. Absolutely positive we'll beat it but just chomping to get going. Faster I start, faster it'll end.

Hope everyone else is having a good evening. Thanks as always for all the thoughts and good wishes. :A
