    Hi,

SH - thank you so much for the kind offer. Having somewhere unrelated to offload does help. I've been honest with dad and pretty honest with DS (haven't told him certain things rather than downright lies).

GG - Baby Goose sounds adorable...mine is now 6' tall and has the facial hair of Oddbod Junior - but still my baby :D.

Had chemo today but taken off the clinical trial as DVT in arm means I cant take those drugs and blood thinners as well. Managed to remain conscious throughout which is good and nausealess so far, which I desperately want to continue.

Hope everyone else is doing well today.

Hi KJ - Well good that there is no nausea. I bet you have mixed feelings about the clinical trial tho.... altho blood clots are nasty things.... and not worth the risk.

My day was OK - went to the GP - and she said that I've been trying to cut down my tablets too quickly and should be kinder to myself.... who knew? LOL It has been a boiling hot day here - and I decided to be very MSE and avoid car parking fees by walking the mile or so to work and back... Was fine apart from the sweat pouring off me when I go there! Put it this way... I don't think I'll bother wearing tinted moisturiser for the time being... Wiped most of it off my brow in the first few mintues of being in the office.... I have managed to find a fan now which is helping with hot flushes...

Got a call from DS who managed to lock himself out... but didn't do so when I was off work and in? Kids!

Wow kudos to you getting yourself back to being fit after such a hard time.

I keep lying on the floor and doing leg lifts while the husky tries to sit on my head. They've said the pain isn't chemo anymore but arthritis cos they saw it on the scans when they were checking to see if the cancer had spread! Thanks for telling me guys

Good thing is I'll use exercise and hot bathes and ibuprofen to try and control...stuff they said won't work for chemo pain...so need to go and get some big bottles of bubble bath...the hippo will be wallowing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

PS Nausea now arrived big style... the matching buckets are back :T

  • Just popping in to say hi and sending love and hugs, I think maybe you won't appreciate it whilst feeling rough, but you are amazing and brave.

I think of you a lot and have been reading keeping my eye on you ready with the fairy dust if needed

    Love Buffyxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Hi KJ - sorry to hear the nausea is back

Good that some of your current pain is treatable - even if arthritis isn't exactly on anyone's wishlist of conditions to have...

It sounds like you are trying to keep your sense of humour - which is good - but sometimes a good cry is also helpful. If I want to give myself permission to cry I watch Bridge to Terrabithia in which a girl dies... Weird I know but I really struggle to cry and always sob to that one !! If I want to lift my mood tho - I find myself watching Dave's good news show, 8 out of 10 cats, mock the week, QI XL etc

Can you still lose yourself in a good book or is that lost to you at the moment? Even if you are struggling to read - I found I could read self-help stuff even when I couldn't read fiction. I find the chicken soup for the soul stuff a good read to help restore faith in human nature.

Hugs. Hope you're okay and you have friends around when you need them.

:eek:about conking out, but glad the chemo kind of went ok today.

Kind of a blessing in disuigse about the arthritis! What a way to find out! I have arthritis in my spine, and I find paracetamol and codeine works pretty well as well

    Thanks ladies.

Well went over to the practice today and did my injection myself go me. Then I burst into tears and couldn't stop. Unfortunately I do keep doing that and I hate it. Physchologist and Maggies keep saying it's healthy and not a show of weakness but I really feel very uncomfortable just going "whaaaaa" at the drop of a hat.

We've been watching all the old Yes Minister and Yes Prime Ministers of DVD. My laughs come from DS ending himself watching them. Unfortunately last one was last night so now being threaten with a episode of classic Dr Who a night...I don't mind gives us a bit of time together before he goes to DS Den and shoots unsuspecting zombies (code for homework allegedly!!)

Managed 5 loads of washing today but not much else. Off to try and face cooking dinner next - that may be a challenge.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

    Hi KJ

Just going thro menopause can make you cry at the drop of a hat never mind all the extras you are coping with. Definitely human. Altho hearing that you are managing chemo and 5 loads of washing almost made me doubt it LOL

You are doing amazing - don't underestimate how much effort and energy you are investing just in keeping yourself and your DS going, never mind the house and the business you are quietly still involved with!! I'd take my hat off to you if I wore one!

Glad you are finding somethings to laugh at or just things to take your attention are helpful. Are you doing free bingo while watching the TV cos if not we can get you doing that and you can get the odd amazon voucher as reward too...

    Hugs

    Hi SH,

Bingo sounds good...I can push a button still.

Have a lot on my mind with council threatening court action over an absent tenent...she's told them loads of lies and I have to build a case to refudiate (ps she has no proof but that's not the point!!). Think about writing, copying in my lawyer to say I can't do this justice at the moment but will give you a full event history by the end of October (she's been uncontatable since Oct 10).

Any thoughts anyone?? Oh and theres no-one else can do this bar me cos no-one else was involved with her.

    6th and last load on.

Still reading KJ sorry about all the hassle you are having.. I have no idea about the above so cant advise. However I saw this today and thought i would share it with you... It really does sum me up in a nutshell at the moment and I am sure ladies of a certain age feel the same :):)
