Hi KJ, haven't seen you about for a bit, hope everything is going ok. :A

Well back again after hiding under the stairs for a spell.
Good news is that tumour has shrunk by over 40% during first 3 rounds of chemo. New drugs kick in now and they start Monday so a bit apprehensive about a fresh set of side effects...but in 7 and half weeks it'll all be over drain cleaner wise and that's the point I'm holding on to.
Contract was cancelled this week, so officially no job or money until next year. Hopefully I can start working somewhere about Easter time.
Burned out flat is proceeding slowly but we seem to have the finances agreed with Loss Adjusters so thats a big relief.
Gas and Elec DD just jumped from £173 to £208 from next month. That's a big chunk of change and I'll have to dig into further, but I'm home all the time at the moment and that adds up.
DS is being just that. He's so helpful and caring it amazes me, so very blessed there.
Only downer is possibility that I've now been knocked into both early menopause and diabetes by the drugs. Diabetes should stabalise when I finish chemo but hot flashes are here to stay. Just feels like a triple whammy and might explain why I keep bursting into tears for no reason at all. Very un-KJ...has to stop.
Hope everyone else is doing well. I'll concoct and post a to do list later...need my little reminders to act as a big bottom kick (and unfortunately I still have a very big bottom).:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Just booked an evening course on Family History for DS and myself. Starts next week and will give us something gentle to do together as I'm banned from training and neither of us have a smidgeon of lingustic ability...so something different required.
Also have to report the early loss of a nipple . Got a tad overexcited whilst cleaning filithy mucky laptop and nipple shot off and landed somewhere that I can't find. Seeing consultant tomorrow, must remember to request third one and see if that'll do instead.
Off to try and replace DS's driver's licence...he's lost the paper bit and can't sit his theory test without.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
I'm sorry, but can I laugh at the lost nipple. My friend's mum had breast cancer, and we used to joke that her mastectomy replacement would float out of her swimming costume and ride merrily past her when she was swimming.
First time I've read your diary, ashamedly, and you manage to do so much. I think I must be feeling how some of your family are, as there's a chance my sis might have cervical cancer. They removed most of it Monday and we're all waiting on a knife-edge for the biopsy.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Hi Elfen,
Rotten time for your sis and family. For me the not knowing was the worst time, I found the diagnosis and ability to be able to plan infinitely easier to deal with. Hopefully all will be clear, my fingers and toes are crossed.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Thanks kissjenn, my fingers are crossed for you too. Hoping the next round of treatment doesn't take too much out of you** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Hi KJ, nice to see you back again.
Great news about the 40% shrinkage of the tumor.
Sorry to hear about the diabetes and early menopause though, just more to deal with. You sound as though you're coping really well - I'm glad your DS is being good to you.
The family history evening course sounds quite interesting, my mum would love something like that.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Thanks Sashybo.
My dad's not impressed by the class at all. Kept muttering that some things should be left to lie and other ominous old man mumblings. Probably means grandad was a closet transvestite Nazi who came to Scotland enteraining the troops on a U-Boat. More interesting than finding Uncle Fred was a trainspotter tho!

Good morning one and all.
Up and off to hosp...always fun and always at the furtherest point away from me in Edinburgh. On a MSE point they've now introduced free parking for patients which is a god send as I'm often there for 7+ hours.
After hosp onto supermarket armed with little list, try and keep it sensible :rotfl:
Then lunch and poss cinema with friend. Feeling a tad dodgy at the moment so playing it by ear...see how I am after doc.
So a happy and prosperous day to all.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
