Grand Total costs for Chip Pan Fire - over £20,765 and she complained to the CAB that I didn't refund her £600 deposit
Thank god it was insured...even if it will have taken about 8 months by the time it's finished. Wonder what they'll whack the premiums up to next year.
Tesco are visiting first thing with a biggish shop...ran out of washing tablets, fabric softener, flour etc etc this week. So may as well have someone else humph that lot. I think it's a good use of £4.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Hi KJ - some people have a lot of nerve don't they!!
I am using Mr As delivery - money well spent in my view - reducing my shopping ability - I take stuff out the trolley as I check what we already have in - and if they mess anything up I get a refund pretty much straight away! I got credited £21 for them failing to deliver on time but TBH they can do that every week if they want to if it gets me £20+. I got the £5 for the £40 spend on top so this weeks bill should have been about £70 but with the credits and price guarantee stuff I only spent about £43Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thats a brilliant saving SH. Not sure if Mr A does here...I must look and see. I love their shower gel...oh good reason to step away and use the umpteen bottles of other stuff first!
Mr T (actually a very nice Mrs T) has been and gone. Everything I wanted and it's all neatly put away. Enough canned toms to do a seige or two, but I like having full cupboards especially at the moment.
I've converted the old dining room into CHristmas central so the tins of chocs are out of sight...ho hum...now to ignore them for 8 weeks
Off to bank now to deposit fire cash and post money to the painter, that'll cheer him up. Then walk around the river with mutley...pleasantly chilled morning :j:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
sounds like everything is coming together..shopping being delivered was a godsend when I was having treatment0

Thanks Chpas.
MSE just ate my post  hate it when that happens.
Taxi...so agreed. Home delivery is a godsend. SOmehow ended up with 24 eggs so eggy menu next week...hmmm don't think Small Boy will moan about Bacon and Eggs for dinner (or lunch or breakfast).
SH...well done on present sorting. I have pretty much sorted Small Boy (including Lego of course).
Bonus is that my pressie from him which I ordered arrived today. We're going halfers which leaves him money to get things for his grandad, dad and dad's "flatmate" of 10 years. 17 hours of Monty Hall coming my way so that's Christmas and Boxing Days sussed.
Double Bonus is that husky fancies Monty's dog Reuben ("A tail with an idiot attached"). It's the only TV she watches so girly drool session coming up :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(Husky obviously, I hardly ever dribble).:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. I ended up ordering my cellophane off amazon - didn't realise they did it... never really got into ebay and don't like using paypal.... Same company on amazonAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Great news on the voucher SH and on tracking down cellophane.
I had an "in bed" day yesterday. Not ill as such just yeuch. Still managed to read an entire book so concentration is returning which is grand. :T
Got a phone call from another agent about a job. It's realistically a 2 hour commute and I won't be able to drive for 6 weeks post surgery. Rates are incredibly good and I could make a lot of money but fighting with practicalities (including health) against desire to get out and rebuild some money again. Any thoughts gratefully received.
SB aced his maths test this week so he is over the moon. We'll do something nice to celebrate.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Just had GP on the phone. Just checking I'm OK because my blood counts are dangerously low. Nothing they can do except wait it out but be prepared for no chemo on Monday unless they soar over the weekend.
She also made me promise I go straight to hospital if I feel even a slightly unwell...I've got a sniffly start-up cold. If it gets worse I'm in.
Odd how that has completely freaked me. Doing the never advisable internet checking, seemingly when your neutrophils are like this you can be asympomatic and so its got to the dire stage when you notice...how to completely freak a person out.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.
