THanks SH. He assures me he is doing the online practice stuff. I got it for his birthday when he started lessons (18 mths ago ). I suspected it would be a long haul given his previous problems with swimming and cycling etc but he's sticking with it and that makes me proud. Very very skint :rotfl:but proud
.
ExOH has also asked someone to come to my house, go in my loft and collect his CDs...never a by-your-leave to me. Oddly enough I didn't react too well. Dad is pressurising me to have him over for Christmas lunch because he's alone and no-one will invite him for the day. I know I will probably out of guilt but other half of me thinks :mad::mad:. I wish I was nicer person but after almost 7 years of him contributing nothing and moaning incessantly I feel hacked off I have to be the one that has him. All his friends and family who were horrified I'd ended it with him don't visit or invite him anywhere...he's hard work and always ingrateful. I really don't know what to do for the best
Cold is coming to nothing, just sniffly and not sleeping very well. So after car boot and sunday market, I've holed up on the couch and reading some diaries...I'm a terrible lurker and non-poster so apologies to all. Definately noticing the dark drawing in...it's getting grey outside already so winter most definately here and at home in warm is a good place to be. :T:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Thanks Beanie and SH. SB has asked me if we're inviting him. He thinks we should to be nice. I probably will to keep the peace and assauge my guilt and then my duty is done...I think the guilt will override my annoyance. Who knows, he may say no.
I am definately buying a scotch pie to serve to Grandad on Christmas Day. Every year he moans that there's too much food and he only likes simple stuff etc etc sure you've all heard it as well. So this year SB and I are determined to shut him up and have the full monty while presnting him with a pie (Husky loves pies so won't be wasted). And if he decides to have that instead of Christmas dinner then all the more for us!!
I'm planning a Thanksgiving style meal at the end of Nov to celebrate the end of chemo with my friends who've helped me thro. That'll be a fun evening with lots of games being played and a good few laughs. Once we've found a date that works, I'll start getting that sorted.
More Christmas shopping done. Want to have Christmas sorted as much as possible by early Dec so everything's in place in case I get a pre-Christmas surgery date. Got some nice stuff on the Boots £ for 2 offer via Quidco - 10% off the order and 10% cashback via Quidco. Couldn't use any of Boots vouchers and didn't want to wait til their next shopping event date. So happy I paid £82 pounds for £132 worth of stuff and £8.20 to come back via Quidco.
SH - I'm also looking for cellophane...any ideas on where's good to find it?:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -

Excellent, thanks SH.
Made Jenny's Magic Chocolate Pudding tonight. A practise shot as we have a guest for dinner on Wednesday and wanted to see if I could make it. Did it in the halogen oven and it could have done with 5 minutes more so will adjust on Wed, that said SB lapped it up and will finish demolishing it tomorrow. Compared with the cost of buying a ready made one it was very MSE and only took 10 mins to pull together.
Big pot of soup also made (you can tell it's winter time in Scotland), that plus bacon sarnies will be dinner tomorrow.
Banks and emails checked. Chased a tenant for rent (how boringly familiar) and got usual "Oh, I should have paid that to you?" Eh yes, you know, I know, so stop jerking everyone about and just pay it
Another one who's 10 weeks in arrears is def paying tomorrow...guess what I'll be checking first thing? Why is it so hard this idea of - you rent a flat...you then have to pay rent?

It does Beanie...right round the twist. And exOH who's now decided to keep his share in all the properties just sits on his large bahookie while I have to manage this lot. Life really is so unfair in his eyes  But, in a positive, 10 weeks behind is now 6 weeks behind as she paid a month today
Cheque from insurers came so that'll be banked today and will mean I can pay the guys fast for getting the jobs done.
Otherwise it's a lovely day, so will take husky for a wander after I visited the bank...stretch her little paws a bit.
Hope everyone has a grand day :j:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
