    Hello beanie and buffy :T

Psychologist yesterday is worried I'm over doing so seeing him next week to keep an eye on progress. I've been feeling pretty upbeat since I saw him and had two very broken up days ie work / appt / working from home which has helped tiredness a bit.

Today's psychologist (oncology specialist) has told me I coping really well with disease and possible recurrence. Keep doing what I'm doing and no need to come back. Happy with that. Felt a bit of a con being there as the really dark stuff has passed. Appreciate general guy tho as that's helping me transition back into work.

Planning to do some catch up over the weekend so I can have a sensible discussion with boss on Monday.

Tenants - where do I start. One that owes over £5k wasn't in for appointment with management company last night - quelle surprise!! They're gong back next week but reported that she's packing as huge boxes of stuff being piled up in hall (they peeked thro letter box).

Ones that owe £6k have moved appointment til Monday. We're taking bets on a weekend flit.

Ones that provoked anonymous letter from neighbours over the state externally have destroyed one door, painted bits of walls and haven't reported leaking toilet so whole house stinks of urine. Kids are sleeping on mattresses. This is the couple on sickness benefit and dla (both of them) with 3 kids. After rent and council tax they are left with £1500 a month clear in benefits (figures from agency who credit checked them). They're quite happy living in squalor...nuff said.

So to the peeps here who think claiming dla or ESA is scrounging after a lifetime on putting into the system (Taxi I'm looking at you) go for it, it's you the safety net is there for.

Takes your breath away doesn't it.

    Rules are very simple...

    1) less you can do for yourself, by design or intent, the more we'll give you.

    2) make sure you always have an under-5 available for claiming. They're little golden tickets to endless goodies and no consequences.

    3) Lie, cheat, defraud to your hearts content, if you are the proud possessor of (2) you're bullet proof.

    4) If you want to succeed make sure you do otherwise any half-measures attempted like savings, working low-paid or part time jobs, will count against you. Be rich or poor, getting stuck in the middle trying is not a good place to be if you ever need legal or financial help.

So I try to rise above and just keep plodding. Otherwise I'd need my own personal psychologist 24/7 :(

Breathe Buffy Breathe...all though it is pretty breath taking.

On the positive side I've cleaned up the kitchen, made a cauldron of chicken broth and got the washing machine rolling. Lunch was leftovers plus salad all from fridge so not spent a penny today. Broth for dinner.

Planning to go to seaside tomorrow. Putting will be closing until next Easter soon so hoping to get in a game with SB. There's a great beach down there where mad husky can romp and we'll treat ourselves to lunch. Got some chicken out for dinner either tomorrow or Monday, depending on appetites. Broth will do another proper meal (it's proper Scottish that you can stand a spoon up in :rotfl:).

Paperwork up to date with tiny bit of filing to do. Also want to do a couple of hours prep for work on Monday.

Things are on the up (as long as I maintain tenant-induced amnesia).

  • I am so glad I only have one useless tenant (and house) after reading this :( I feel for you as been there with my own house and tenants with more money than sense (thanks to benefits of one sort or another) Do any of these tenants have guarantors? I managed to get the last tenants (who didn't pay and did a flit) mum and dad to pay up! They were down as guarantor so we went straight after them instead! xx

I have a court claim against a guarantor believe it or not but can't get a penny out. There's a class of people out there who just have no sense of moral responsibility. Nothing to do with income or job or race or creed simply an inherent belief that they don't have to pay for anything they don't want to.

I have nothing but respect for the people on here who man up and pay what they owe. People who keep going when there's an easier but wrong way out.

I'm so far from perfect it's a joke but I believe to the bottom of my heart that I keep my word, work as hard and long as it takes to keep my son, the luxuries come after the bills are paid and that people in the main are good. Some people just follow the beat of a different drum I guess.
