Hello...and thanks for all your wonderful replies.

I managed to make some soup and kept some chunky veg over for a stew tomorrow. So getting there but will have a mootch round the supermarkets too. It's times like this I so miss driving but not much longer.

One set of friends are taking me up to consultant on Monday and then Chemo on Wednesday (assuming they continue the chemo). I've been very lucky that way and SB is still a star.

Grandad is alive but hanging by a thread. We had piles, and I mean piles, in the kitchen as I've been struggling. He walked in to the my sitting room and says "That's a hell of a pile of washing. You'd better start getting on with it." What have I done to deserve the men in my life, with the exception of SB they're all complete sods.

Oh and Shinner, I will phone to appeal the Lower Rate. IS there anything in particular I should say?

Just say you disagreee with the decision & that you need care through the day.

It goes on how much help etc you need. Explain about hospital appointments distance i would also suggest that people need to help you day and night. Even if it is for simple things getting you a drink helping you by preparing food clothes, bathing prepaing and on bad days maybe a wash? etc.
There will be lots you have overlooked you have to put everything down. Also go off a bad day not a good.
    Hope this helps.
    Wishing you well.:)
You need care through day and night only give brief details on the phone medication etc then write a covering letter. I got 4 A4 sides of paper ready and never got as far as sending as decision was changed.

I really hope they overturn the decision. It would be the only sensible course of action on their part, but they are not always renowned for their common sense.

What sort of soup did you make? I am a huge fan of soup, and am going to try to find some more summery soup recipes, as over winter I have been loving things like carrot and coriander, spicy cauliflower, chilli tomato etc, and they don't seem quite right as the weather gets warmer (assuming it ever does).

Hi, this is a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday now of hospital visits and I'm toiling two days in.

On the very very positive side I've had three different sets of people volunteer to get me in and out to hospital saving £40 each way and refusing nothing in return. Bottles of wines etc and lunch for SB are all being meted out, but still much easier for me and so kind of all those involved.

Monday visit with consultant confirmed tumour has not only grown but more than doubled. She's agreed to let me switch chemo to what we lovingly call f£cking F.E.C. It's nasty to me and will require heavy duty anti-emetics. I will get out of the door to do this somehow tomorrow. Sometimes not knowing is best.

Today had to have heart scan to check it's strong enough for a F.E.C.ing. Its dropped over 10% but still qualifies. Scary to know what these drugs are doing to my organs...again probably best not to know.

Tomorrow I've chemo and an appointment with the Diabetic nurses. I've been pretty ok...tad over normal but they're normal. Took steroids this morning and insulin to combat and my blood sugar has still tripled. Grrrr...looks like some dosage adjustments required.

On the flats from the three empty are all rented. I did the arrears statement for one who's just given notice. Took 3 hours to do a 30 minute job, my brain is fried.

Also made a list of tasks for tomorrow, starting with Benefits Appeal...I phoned too late this evening.

Hope everyone else is well and having a good week.

Oh KJ, poor you. I hope the F.E.C. isn't too nasty and the anti-emetics help. I don't actually know where in Scotland you are, but I'm in Edinburgh, and if there is anything I can do to help at all, please let me know.

Thinking of you and willing things to improve. xx
