Moo, hope you're better now. Stinking colds are stinky and hang around for ages.

Organised the official safety certificates for 3 flats up for rent at the moment. That's about a grand's worth ... scary.

Got another set of bills (final ones hopefully) for flat that guy trashed end of last year...so another £1800. Plus old agency bill of £700.

So that's £3,500 to get 3 flats ready to rent. Don't need to look far to see why I'm skint.

Does anyone understand how this Energy Club on the MSE website works? NPower have upped my DD from £122 pm to £534 pm and told me I can only change my tariff through MacMillan. MacMillan say because I've savings, I don't qualify. Very very confused and very very cold if I don't have heating on.

    Any explanations gratefully received.

Wee note to self. Just changed washings over and called Npower to try and fix this bill nonsense. Done all that without crying or feeling violently sick which is about the first time in a week. Wonder if my bloods are coming up again as I feel much better in myself than I have done for at least 10 days.

If I put this in as a wee placeholder then I can see how I feel about the same time next cycle. If the theory holds tho then I'll be in that dark, scary place for about 10 days - starting next Friday. But knowing that and knowing it passes is a big help.

    Oh yes indeedy.

NPower on Monday - you owe us £765 and you're using £500 pm so direct debit will stay at £534 unless MacMillan say you qualify for their special "cancer" tariff.

NPower today (after MacMillan confirm I have savings so no "Cancer" tariff for me). You owe us £765 which you can repay interest free over 12 months. You're usage plus our best tariff would reduce your ongoing consumption to £200pm. So bill halved because I spoke to someone who'd admit they had better tariffs regardless of cancer.

I know it's still huge to most folks but the chemo makes me so cold and dopey. Springs coming so it'll drop over the next few months but I'll pay us up for the 2013/14 winter.

Happy bunny all in all. I'm very pleased with what I've achieved today and I prepped all the chicken and veg for a huge stir fry which SB cooked for us. Definitely a good day.

So glad that you got that sorted out.
Just shows as you say the difference when you speak to different people.
Glad that you had the energy to deal with that today.

How annoying about the electric. Most of the tarrifs for people that are ill expect you to be on income related benefit so are pretty useless.
I know and empathise with you at how cold you feel as I still feel the cold very much x

Feels like an endless battle Beanie and Taxi. I think the side effects of this will be with me for a while, tbh I was still experiencing the side effects of the first time around with cancer so it feels cumulative this time.

Not sure if that's how you feel too Taxi?

Couple of bits of good news to share.

I've been awarded the lowest rate of DLA from May (there's a 3 month qualifying period). So £21.00 a week from them which will be very useful.

Also a chap called from a heating charity as MacMillian's gave them my name. They're coming out next Thursday and will survey the house and give us pointers on insulation etc. May even qualify for some extra insulation in the attic as it's not been touched in ages. Regardless it'll be good to have some solid tips as we're not the best at saving heat. I've turned into my mother and all you hear is "were you born in a byre" resonating most days :rotfl:
