  • my receipt showed the new policy details stamped around 18.30, but RnR board was still on display although CS had "accidentally" placed a rather large trolley thing (not a normal shopping trolley) in front of it so the last few lines - inc the RnR promise couldnt be read

Or is that just me being suspicious

Wrong again TE, I got one at 4pm yesterday with my diesel, some people reported them earlier than that.

    Yep!

9:15am from cafe when I got a cup of (disgusting) coffee and an 8 item breakfast.
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Just got an R&R on 2 Gordon Ramsey Makes it Easy books. Stickered at £8.97 scanned at £9.97.

SS trained CSA made suggestive remarks that the books had all had their stickers removed and inferred I was a closet book sticker!! Offered to resell to me at £8.97. I said been stood here for last 10 mins looking at the sign behind the desk which says R&R. Grudgingly refunded and said policy changing. Pity attitude and customer service skills of his staff not given same attention by Mr T. perhaps with all the savings he'll be trousering through the R&R being discontinued he can invest some in sending all his CSA's on a customer care course?

Might be last R&R but glad to have shown that the SS don't always win. :j

Don't get me started on the Quality of the canteen! It's shocking for Staff and Customers!

The breakfast was surprisingly good to be honest.

The coffee however was almost as bad as McDonalds coffee.

As soon as I got the receipt (and checked it obviously) I saw the notice accross the top saying about refund policy changing.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Got my second Gordon Ramsay book in 2 weeks. CSA insisted on checking the shelf the book had come from (despite the fact a large sticker on the book clearly said £8.97) and came back claiming that none of the other copies had a price sticker on. She didn't quite accuse me but came close to it. After refunding that and 3 x 24 cans of coke she did wryly mutter that she wished she'd come shopping with me...

Edit: Sorry! keep forgetting which thread I'm on - should have been discussion thread comment!

Hmmmm, I noticed exactly the same thing in my local 2 days ago...wonder if it's the same store? Edit, since found out it's not, just very similar in its approach!

Especially as your dreadful treatment described in your previous post is all too familiar in there. I hope the newspaper bods are reading posts like yours, it happens all too often in some stores.

No customer should be subjected to rudeness over a clear misprice of some meat, which 20 other customers have already been overcharged on that day and not noticed. Why shoot the messenger Tesco, it's your company that's breaking the law, not the customers!

Very true. I think it's so sad that tesco staff take this R&R so personally although its coming out of there own pocket or something!

I am trying to get one of the journalists who wrote the Telegraph story interested in the wider problem that's yet to be reported in the media.......
