I would be inclined to disagree, I would say busines as usual with the regard to posting misprices, you post and you give the community opportunity to make complaints elsewhere in the country, the posting of misprices has maintained this thread for two years now, it has drawn people into the debate and activity who otherwise would have quite happily trudged through the tills and worked the overtime to account the missing funds in their budget, it has turned shoppers into campaigners, it has brought hours of enjoyment and fruition to I would think tens of thousands by this time.k60sav wrote:The best thing we can all do is stop posting the misprices and just simply report each one we see to ts
all the last policy did was prevent ts imposing a massive fine on tescos for their continued illegal activity
all sincere and genuinely concerned people should do now is take note of every single misprice they see and report it and eventually tescos WILL receive the fine they deserve...i do remember reading somewhere..perhaps somebody knows of the exact bit im quoting but wasnt it due..back in the 1990's in Ireland overcharges were estimated at 33 million by trading standards and thus a 1 billion pound fine was threatened...
correct me if im wrong
sounds like good payback to me
Roll over I don't think so.
It is important for us to pursue this in the early days as in the long haul many will lose interest if those of us considered veterans drop out now.
Don't forget there is absolutely nothing stopping you reporting a successful r&r or dtd transaction neither policies have any legally binding conditions on you the consumer. Take your money and run.
Straight to TS. ALWAYS put your complaint in writing and not through consumerdirect.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
the problem being tho ben, and dont get me wrong, i agree with you to a point, but in the first instance today, on its second day up in my store, on the second day i spotted a misprice, the manager refused even the new policy..
he gloated and im supposed to what...let others knowingly be overcharged?
I agree, posting misprices is great for the community in general day to day activities it adds an interesting spin on usual shopping...but in the long run it is the consumer that is suffering because absolutely NOTHING is happening to Tescos to put this right...so we get a few pence and they make millions in overcharges?
The game itself is great..but isnt it about time that we stood up to them?0 -
just seen your previous post ben. So i take it on the "very rare" occasions you are undercharged you point it out to the checkout assistant?
I repeat that Tescos and I are ships that pass in the night. They are in business just the same as your hypothetical car dealer and, probably sadly, the majority of the population shop there. They are far from perfect and their customer service policies have reflected that, although i think personal attitude training may have been a requirement for some staff. There was a person in here crowing that they or a friend had got a 37" tv for zilch. Could anyone in business have allowed that to go on. Personally I would be happier take my chances with the Trading Standards!0 -

Thankyou...we got there in the end
maybe there is some link we can get up with phone numbers etc, a template letter that we can have a link to and adresses etc?0 -
I have never been undercharged, the price the item scans at is the correct price, if a higher price is displayed it is not going to have a positive effect on my purchasing decision, if a lower price is displayed there is every likelyhood it will.merlin48 wrote:just seen your previous post ben. Had I identified the items that were overcharged I would have given the company the opportunity of rectifying the mistake, that was not something I wished to do, I set out to reject the goods.merlin48 wrote:ben, So you are convinced that you were correct? I am cool with that and I am not saying don't do it but if you are going to mount an urban guerilla action, then get evidence. Just think how much better it would have been if you could have identified the item or items you had been overcharged on. Or would that have taken slightly too much time?
And for anyone who is doubt I do not work for Tesco and I think Asda do some fantastic deals. I do, however, have serious problems with their implementation of their stated overprice policies!
Tonight i ate some steak bought in Sainsbury's and earlier bought some porridge in Waitrose. I often visit and buy in Aldi, Netto and Lidl but we dont have a Somerfield near us. And our local butcher and greengrocer are fantastic. Did I leave anyone outFour guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
Nearly got banned today... When offered only d&d on overpriced items, I had the impudence to point out that another store had told me that the d&d policy replaces r&r on Monday 19th Feb. I told them that their d&d policy was on the board too early and how could one store be doing different from another one as wasn't the company policy nationwide etc?
I realise how silly and stupid it was to be so obvious. I really didn't want to be banned from my local and they relented saying I should stay clear of the CS desk in future, which I suppose like a well behaved little customer I will.
But it does anger me. Shouldn't they be sorry for overcharging ix many customers who don't check their receipt and even so wouldn't realise the many sel differences etc? If they were really morally correct shouldn't they be sorry and be saying thank you to me so that they wouldn't be overcharging any other punters by mistake? Instead I left feeling like I had been up to no good and acting like a down right criminal.
Big Oops, going back to being shy and retiring.0 -
Actuallllyyyy...pianeet wrote:i am probably about to get my head bit off here,,but you can't blame tesco for changing the policy, none of the other supermarket,s do r and r and we don't slag them off,if i remember sainsbury,s done this offer first and it worked both ways even if you were undercharged ,but they removed there offers quicker than tesco,
i say make hay while the policy is still in place, but it has certainly been harder in my local tesco recently with the only misprices being on the meat counters..
There is another supermarket that does do something similar to R&R, but it is at the store's discretion and isn't given any publicity. It's rarely given for overcharges, though. It's used when a customer buys a product that is then returned due to being off/faulty/bad quality. The customer is then given a full refund and a replacement. Apparently, this particular store is using this policy more and more. "Which store?" I hear you ask...
ASDA.
(Was told this by a manager the other day.)
Incidentally, don't forget that Asda refund the difference and give you a £2 gift card for each item you've been overcharged on, regardless of the number of items or whether you buy multiples of the same item. If you get trouble from CS, ring Asda House from the store. Asda CS will ask to speak to the CSA and tell them it's £2 per item. Asda has changed their price integrity policy recently. You don't get a gift card if you are undercharged now.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.
