Occured to me earlier that the possible reason for this policy change happening now is Tesco know that they are bound to !!!! up the launch of the PS3 on a grand scale and are simply applying it as damage limitation.TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0

Sorry I must have missed your point in the thread.
If you'd have said to the customer service person, X product is incorrectly priced then I'd see your point.
I think you've got serious issues with Tesco and you're willing to waste your own time and others at arguing over a principal.
The person who you confronted doesn't give a crap. They only work there.
Does it make you feel like a big man? It is pretty sad that you went out of your way to do it. I could see the point if you were doing your weekly shop and came across the error.
The fact that you "allocated" time for it is pretty pathetic in my opinion.ben500 wrote:I have a life thank you and am quite content with it, I also have a conscience and principles, but then again I am an individual unlike Tesco which is an organisation devoid of individualism as a result of it's internal culture, yes some food was wasted, but more importantly time was wasted, not mine because this section of my time was specifically allocated to this specific task, the task I will explain again as some have quite obviously missed the point of the excercise,
The task was to seek to be overcharged within a store that had removed the current r&r promise prematurely and had replaced it with the dtd promise, and to follow that with a distinct message that I was not happy with the change and was less happy with the fact I had been overcharged {as usual} and that as a result I would not complete the tranasaction, I will of course complete any transaction that is accurate {when the day comes}. Why should I complete a purchase when the store provides me with two different prices both of which conflict with my own tally? How about if I go to a car showroom and a nice little car marked up at £10k but when I sign they charge me £40k? Am I going to be happy? Doubt it, am I going to sign? Not on your nelly.0 -

Having made the policy change, they still have the audacity to claim - "In the unlikely event....!!!!!!!" If it was so unlikely, no doubt the policy would have remained the same.
What audacity!!!!!

I am currently exploiting both in other ways , I don't restrict my activities to just the most serious offender in the marketplace if that's what you mean? However this forum does provide a platform by which to encourage others to do so, and apply pressure otherwise not present, to enlighten others to the fact that Tesco have quite happily allowed a culture of "As long as the customer not the company lose out it's ok" complacency to develop into criminal activity {Sue me Tel }which incidentally other supermarkets do not share.zultan wrote:And you'll of course be seeking out misprices in Asda and Sainburys?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

The best thing we can all do is stop posting the misprices and just simply report each one we see to ts
all the last policy did was prevent ts imposing a massive fine on tescos for their continued illegal activity
all sincere and genuinely concerned people should do now is take note of every single misprice they see and report it and eventually tescos WILL receive the fine they deserve...i do remember reading somewhere..perhaps somebody knows of the exact bit im quoting but wasnt it due..back in the 1990's in Ireland overcharges were estimated at 33 million by trading standards and thus a 1 billion pound fine was threatened...
correct me if im wrong
sounds like good payback to me0 -
ben, So you are convinced that you were correct? I am cool with that and I am not saying don't do it but if you are going to mount an urban guerilla action, then get evidence. Just think how much better it would have been if you could have identified the item or items you had been overcharged on. Or would that have taken slightly too much time?
And for anyone who is doubt I do not work for Tesco and I think Asda do some fantastic deals. I do, however, have serious problems with their implementation of their stated overprice policies!
Tonight i ate some steak bought in Sainsbury's and earlier bought some porridge in Waitrose. I often visit and buy in Aldi, Netto and Lidl but we dont have a Somerfield near us. And our local butcher and greengrocer are fantastic. Did I leave anyone out0 -
I think the general problem is that the Tesco employees that have sought to come here and gloat at the demise of r&r are suddenly realising that it won't necessarily mean the end of this thread merely a second phase so to speak, contrary to some I don't say go, I say stay around and watch this space.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
