weaver wrote:little john reading your post you make it sound like a game - "treasure hunt" maybe - but when can we play - pin the tail on the donkey.
brought a smile to my face - thanks
It is a game, everyone in the house is out every Tuesday and Thursday nights. I either play on one of the many free consoles I have had or go out to mates or go to Tesco. I also drive 1000's of miles a month for work so I pass alot of stores so I call in my sat nav warns me if I am within 1 mile of a store. yes some people tell me it is sad, I reply with a list of my impresive haul and they then ask how it works and want to come with me on a trip.
Well ben500 controversial to the end
no matter what you post someone doesn't like it. It was poor for the store to disagree with you when you informed them they had charged you wrong, what could they have done? if you had informed them where the mistake was then they would have fixed it I assume. The only way they could have sorted it was to check all the prices of the items on the shelves and find the items casuing the overcharge.
Its a shame all that food may have gone to waste, It could have been sent to starving babies in where ever bolocks they only want sacks of rice not billy bear (preformed meat I know sold in asda) and warbys bread allthe tinned stuff may get put back but who cares the staff should have delt with the problem better. I have done a similar thing in the past but only about 15 items when I was informed they wouldnt adhere to their policy I requested a refund on every thing.0 -
I think it's time for everybody to take a step back, breathe deeply, count to ten and restore everything to a state of cool, calm collectiveness. Even Ben's thrown his toys out of the pram tonight and the whole community is in danger of looking like a bunch of spoiled kids who are told to come in early for bedtime.
Focus must change. An overpriced product in itself is no longer good enough. The overprice must be high enough for a "double discount" to be worthwhile, in some cases even better than an R+R.
Mass lobbies to TS and Watchdog are a waste of time (ours and theirs). If Watchdog suddenly get 500 complaints on the same issue they will see it as something organised and ignore it. And it's hard to take the moral high ground when we've been co-operating with Tesco on overcharges and coupon fraud for the past few years.
This can still work well but tantrums (or is that tantra), threats and taunts can only be counter-productive and cast disrepute on a community much bigger than this one thread.
Let's get out there and go for our DDs!Can I help?0 -

There is another supermarket that does do something similar to R&R, but it is at the store's discretion and isn't given any publicity. It's rarely given for overcharges, though. It's used when a customer buys a product that is then returned due to being off/faulty/bad quality. The customer is then given a full refund and a replacement. Apparently, this particular store is using this policy more and more. "Which store?" I hear you ask...
ASDA.
(Was told this by a manager the other day.)
Incidentally, don't forget that Asda refund the difference and give you a £2 gift card for each item you've been overcharged on, regardless of the number of items or whether you buy multiples of the same item. If you get trouble from CS, ring Asda House from the store. Asda CS will ask to speak to the CSA and tell them it's £2 per item. Asda has changed their price integrity policy recently. You don't get a gift card if you are undercharged now.
Found this on the Asda website in the last 15 minutes. I think you'll find that a £2 giftcard is given for each product, not each item. You do also get a giftcard for undercharges for each product you have been 'mischarged' for. A mischarge covers both an undercharge and an overcharge.
"What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift card voucher for each product you have been mischarged for."0 -
Avoid Baguley as they have the DTD board up. The ones in neighbouring towns do no however (as of last night). Which yielded a lemon and garlic chicken (how old is this one really?) and a very nice bottle of single malt (OOD SEL).
Served with a smile and quite happy to refund us. When I casually said 'Oh I thought that had all stopped' she said that DTD was only being trialed in a few stores, not a policy in all of them.It aint over til I've done singing....0 -

It doesn't say for each type of product, I would have taken this to mean that if I buy 2 products ie 2 mars bars and are overcharged I should get 2 gift cards. Asda are almost as bad as Tesco when following policy, unless you remind them about the gift card they don't offer.0 -

Interesting, I wonder how we can find out which stores are changing. I haven't r&r'd for a few weeks, I might go for Tesco tour today and see if any near me have the new boards up yet.0 -

But as the difference was only £1.34 wouldn't it have been more cost effective for everyone if CS had immediately refund £2.64 without any question?. Rescanning all the items for such a small discrepancy is, in my opinion, extremely poor customer service and a complete waste of everyone's time.0 -

Coupon-mad wrote:If the policy actually changes on 26th February (as per Constantine's info and as I have read on Tesco's own 'verylittlehelps' forum) then how can so many stores start implementing the policy early?
'
Stores have not been instructed to start the policy early but some are already doing so.
I suppose as there is no policy on the website (that I can find) they can implement whatever policy they want, but they shouldn't.
I know I have maybe upset a few people with some of my previous posts but I do not agree with the new policy. Tesco need to sort out the PI dept reather than change a perfecty good policy. However I can understand why the company are doing it.
I am not sure that Watchdog would pick up the story based on this opinion...................
They would look into the MSE site and see that customers were going into stores knowing they were going to be overcharged and then claiming they thought the price was XX.xx. Now I know you don't agree, but you have not been overcharged (yes the advertised price is lower than the actual charged but the correct price was charged.....you still should get your R+R as Tesco have cocked up).
Watchdog would be interested if Tesco were producing SEL's that were not matching the price charged by the tills. That isn't happening, but human error (and quite a lot of it) and bad management are allowing problems to appear.
Finally, DTD will still be good for BOGOF etc and you know as well as I do that Tesco will still be making (at local level) many errors.
Happy hunting.........but my store will be at least on top of the game, as we bloody well should be.0
