jays wrote:Wonder how much this rumoured change is costing them - they should put the money into checking their prices - only took me 5 mins to check an electrical dept today and find an ood sel, shouldn't be difficult.
I used to work in systems in tesco, and although it isn't difficult... there's a system that's followed.. so one day we might have done frozen, the next bread etc... so if something in electrical has an incorrect sel... it might not get checked until its that sections turn... if u see what i mean.
Unless we spotted it before which in that case it would have been changed, another thing to note is that when i worked for them all offers, sels are sent down from head office and print off automatically...so u can't really blame the staff in particular stores as they have no control...all we could do was then call ho and tell them of the error and remove the items or change the sel depending on its price (high ones have to go through ho)
p.s. i worked for them in 2004/5 so things might have changedNo person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow. :kisses2:0 -
I look in from time to time to see what is happening with the policy, so if it is truly going to end in the next couple of weeks, that will be let me see..... some two and a bit months after someone first said it was going to end in the new year. I think I'll wait until I see the new sign. Whatever happens I have had my fair share, and have virtually stopped shopping there since the policy was first mentioned to be ending. If Tescos can afford to lose my approx £3k business for the year good on them, their loss is Asda's gain, I won't shop there after they change the policy.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0

As Tesco are apparently no longer confident that it an unlikely event when things don't add up, wonder if they'll be bringing Prunella Scales as "Dotty Turnbull" out of retirement to get the message across that as they're no longer confident about their pricing system, they'll no longer be prepared to refund the cost and let the customer keep the the goods!!!!!!!!!!!!Mr. T - Stop overcharging your customers.
Bring back consumer confidence.

This years O Level maths question.
Q6 Mrs X buys three pieces of pork from Tesco.
1 weighs 1.678kg
1 weighs 2.883kg
1 weighs 0.968kg
Shelf price says per £6.84kg
Mrs X was charged per £7.44kg
Mrs X is overcharged, Tesco has a twice the difference overcharge policy.
What is the exact amount of money Mrs X will have returned to her?
You have 1 minute to work it out.Quotes in context only please.0 -
I see what you mean- i worked for them 2 years ago. I know this is down to pricing dept but how long would it really take for a staff member of each dept to at least check for ood sels - not the staffs fault but something that I am surprised each dept doesnt take on board. Like I said to quickly check an area once a day - just visually as us customers do really wouldnt take long.
Although I am all for r and r's it really frustrates me that they could really improve this easily this would then help when labels arent automatically produced to replace old ones. I am sure there are many reason why Tescos would say this cant be done but as an ex employee and as a customer it doesnt seem difficult. Like many have said on here before they seem bothered about the refunds but not always about correcting their prices.0 -
Apparently Tesco are the subject of a Despatches programme on Monday evening. Perhaps it's all about their contemptuous, and often deliberate and prolonged, overcharging of many layal unsuspecting customers!!Mr. T - Stop overcharging your customers.

But will the customer services desk agree in a noisey, busy environment, after spending 10 minutes looking for a calculator!!! at the same time as wrapping Mrs Smiths' tulips!0 -

I like it tie up the customer services solitary brain cell, only flaw I see in this argument is that I like to be in and out of Tescos asap, not stuck in CS while they try and figure out the connundrum.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -

Easy : ( 1.678 + 2.883 + 0.968 ) x ( 7.44 - 6.84 ) x 2
Plug that into your calculator and Bobs Yer Uncle.
Now, how many TEs would know know to do that I wonder?
Certainly not the pair that refunded me £31 quid of Sirloin last night:A0
