  • ok, i'm dumb, how can looking at shelf edge labels help when you don't know whats going to be scanned through at the till? or are you just checking SEL's against products marked with a price, like dvds and pre packed meat? also, can anyone point me in the right direction of sh&fting tesco's as much as, they are my nemisis, in a theoretical alledged way of course

After finally getting an r and r on electrical product that has been out of date for 3 days, and after having to ask for the managers name so I could take this further as the policy was not being adhered to, the Manager of that department commented to me "I am pleased to tell you that our policy will be changing in a few weeks"

That's me quite convinced now that i have heard it from a store. Quite how they will implement this I dont know. CSA have enough trouble with refunding the product, no offence, I used to be one myself but surely if double the difference is to be correct then on bogof's the r and r will still be in place.

eg bogof @ £3.00 each - offer doesnt come off - so pay £6.00 - difference is £3.00 - double that is £6.00!!! The same as it is under this policy.

I know that wont be the same for other products where the difference is only a few pence but for any r and r'ers if we are talking about electrical products and we are only getting double the difference then surely there isnt the confusion on taking the item back for a full refund, because they have only refunded the difference not the whole product now therefore making it easier to leave the store with no item but still a bit in our pocket???
If this rumour is to be true - and believe me I dont really want to add to it, then I think this could get very confusing!

I suggest we find as much incorrectly priced meat as possible and ask for double the difference - I reckon cs would soon start begging for the policy to change back.:rotfl:

I'd imagine that the receipt will be marked as having double the difference refunded. Most likely returning the product would result in the remainder being refunded, i.e. original price - double difference refunded = remainder

Yes probably but seeing as a lot of receipts go unmarked at present when the only thing they have to write is 'refunded/overcharge' I find it unlikely that all this new info will be done.... think they will need bigger receipts with room for an essay:rotfl:

Wonder how much this rumoured change is costing them - they should put the money into checking their prices - only took me 5 mins to check an electrical dept today and find an ood sel, shouldn't be difficult.

Accounts for companies can cover a period of no longer than 18 months and always have a year end of the month of incorporation unless they apply to change the year end at companies house. Off topic I know but just to clear it up. No doubt someone will know better then me though
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
