Aussiebird, sorry if you felt offended but I did'nt say working mums are numpties.

If you do the job corectly then there's nothing to worry about.

But if you're (generally speaking, not you personally) the actual Tesco member of staff resposible for removing a ticket price, and it stays there wrongly, for up to 6 ruddy days, take the 7.25 24 pack of coke for example.

Then I'm sorry that member of staff is a numptie, and so is the supervisers and managers above them, they all share responsibility.

So my thinking is Toscos should blame their numptie staff and not R&Rers.

Aussiebird, if you keep on top of your job, then Tosco should promote you, and demote and re-train the numpties.
    Quotes in context only please.

If your sole aim was to prove a point what better way of doing it than producing evidence.

Before calling myself or my staff numpties perhaps you need a stint in a store doing what seems to be generalised by many on here an easy job.

Unless you have done the job and seen what needs to be done and the processes by which the final objective is achieved there is no way that you can call anyone a numpty.

Lets take the coke as an example.....this seemed to be a national issue and yes we had the same issue in our store.

I know of a member of staff that is responsible for removing labels however until the labels are generated automatically by the system how do they know which ones to replace? What if, as on some lines i have seen posted on here in the last couple of days, the label is for some reason not produced automatically? Is the person then a numpty for not replacing a label that they are not even aware needs to be replaced? Are they supposed to check each one of 20k+ lines that we have instore daily.

Before generalising and calling people numpties, do your research and find out the circumstances.

None of us are perfect and yes we do make mistakes, but i bet you wouldnt actually walk into the store that I work in, stand in front of my team and call them numpties because one of them occasionally makes a mistake.

Secondly, the plain fact is that it IS the members of this site and others that blatantly abuse the policy out of sheer personal gain that are to blame for the alleged changing of a policy that is over 10 years old. The policy was quite happily ticking over until people took it upon themselves to abuse the hell out of it and make as much as possible in as short a time as possible. Believe me, if everyone followed the dudes example the policy wouldnt possibly be being changed.

Yes mistakes are made and yes mistakes will continue to be made, wether in a greater amount or a less amount remains to be seen but the cash cow looks like it is coming to an end and for that you have only the over exhuberant to blame.

Quite happily ticking over?? so why is the full refund only ever offered without being asked for to a very small percentage of people who are overcharged?

In all the stores i have been overcharged in i have never once been offered a refund without having to mention the policy..

It seems to me Tesco dont seem to like the fact that more people are becoming aware of it, thats the reason for change.

Haven't been anywhere, and it's proven by the way not proved.

In stores in which I am a "known face", never does a CSA try to pull a fast one.

This is not the case where they don't know me from adam. As on Monday. 2 Shop floor assistants blatantly lied to me about products, procedures and barcodes. The manager tried to tell me his version of the law and when he became aware that I knew both the law and his employer's policy, caved in without further problems.

IT IS WRONG - FULL STOP.

So it was advertised on national telly but Tesco are worried about the number of people that know about it....get real!

You and i know that it is being changed because some greedy so and so decides he wants 8 xboxes for free, not 1...because someone wants 4 copies of tom clancys splinter cell not 1 and so on and on. Hate to say it but its greed pure and simple.

Thank you - i'm sure we had the grammar lessons about a year ago!:D

True, you havent been anywhere but your constructiveness and coaching of people in probably the correct course of action moved the thread on and away from the "I got xyz, arent i clever" and the general moaning that is now all too commonplace. This quantity of your posts on the thread has declined and it is now a rare pleasure to read your comments rather than the frequent pain in the !!!! that they were!:o

I think Mr T should bring in a policy on policies. To ensure uniform compliance when changes are made to policies.

Ok... so what you are suggesting is that if a single person obtains 8 XBoxes from 8 stores by r&r it's not on, hence the policy change.

So if 8 people had each r&r'd those 8 XBoxes (i.e. one each) from the same 8 stores the policy wouldn't be changing?
