I'm dont want to buy stuff without being able to check the price it actually scans at first. Is there any way around this?
I've tried pressing the 3 blue buttons on the machine but it still doesn't work?
Any ideas how I can check a price? Are there any other ways to scan the barcode?
Try asking a member of staff?0 -

think you have that the wrong way around m8.
in fact that is a ridiculous statement.
In what way? Are you suggesting that most R&Rs are given to people who are deliberately trying to be overcharged? If that's true, that's surely reason enough to change the policy?0 -
"The professional R&Rers are doing it for a quick buck"
"TGM you have also indicated to Tesco you are an r+rer for how long who knows"
Does not matter either way, if Tesco did their job correctly R&Rs would'nt ever happen.
The only issue I'd take issue with, fellow R&Rers being too greedy. I can honestly say I've only R&Red 1 or maybe 2 items in one go.Quotes in context only please.0 -

Isn't it worse that people get overcharged in stores that don't have any policy other than to refund the difference? Why isn't Tesco being championed for trying to offer something better, rather than exploited?0 -

No, Tesco do this IMO, to stop complaints to trading standards thats all.
The bigger the company the more complaints you're bound to receive.
Tesco should think of a way to keep R&Rs but tackle the greedy sods.
eeeerrrr like, make their staff do their jobs properlyQuotes in context only please.0 -
IMO, Tesco are fair game to get an odd chicken or tray of meat etc, they make millions of pounds.
But I don't believe in filling your whole damn trolley up with an R&RQuotes in context only please.0 -

Why are people R&Ring - oh yes I remember Tesco will not remove out of date or incorrectly priced SELs - Example
cola was mispriced last Thursday SEL 6.95 charged 7.25 guess what its still wrong today 6 days later - now you add up how many people have brought this popular item in those 6 days and the profit tesco have made over that time from customers not noticing the error.
People may be r & Ring for profit (a small minority over the total population) but others like myself now check all SELs and kg weights that I never did before coming on here.
By the way I brought 2 packs of coke last week & 1 pack today - I could have easily cleared the shelf - and another point there was no scanner in store so I wasnt sure and didnt expect this to be wrong before purchase.
For all you people out there defending why Tesco MAY be changing its policy please justify why Tesco have incorrect SELs up for over 1 week (longer sometimes)
Im afraid you have no case.
Ok my rant over - not something I do often but I get so mad at people defending Tesco when they are so happy to overcharge customers on popular items they must sell thousands of.
Im off for a chill pill now - calm, calm, calm. Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
forgot to add I think Tescos new policy is actully going to be -
Double your money back and the product for free
thats what I was given today - and as the supervisor refused my coupons when they were in date and no where near half my bill - I took it with a smileThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -

I agree weaver, I have shopped at Tescos for over 15 years and never, ever used to check my bill. Since finding this thread, I always check and have found that I have been overcharged on small items that I purchase in an every week shop. I dread to think of how much money I have been overcharged in all my years shopping and not checking. If at first you don't succeed ........Alternative autism therapies should be free!!
